You must have wired it wrong. Two wires from outside should go to Y and C

SOURCE: mice ate transducer wire

cut the wire and re connect with crimp connectors and then seal withe heat shring tubing and a heat gun (put the tubing in first) or you could solder the ends together and heat shrink tubing over the individual wires. So long as you have a good water tight connection ther should be no adverse affects to your equipment.

Try to trace all wires and see if the metal part is still intact. Do not turn it on or allow electricity to pass yet! If wire metal intact, get some good quality black electrical tape and carefully tape all the exposed metal. When done, test system.
To prevent problem, use moth balls, fabric softener sheets, or pine sol soaked on cloths to deter mice & rats. If possible, use old- fashion mouse or rat traps with peanut butter to kill intruders to your boat. If you agressively eliminate them, the problem will be solved, but you may have to periodically repeat the trap use.

I replaced an old mercury T-stat (York with model number 2TH11704024) installed a new T-stat (RTH6350). The wires that I I have are O (orange), G (green), Y (yellow), T (gray but not used in new T-stat),...

Did you shut the power off to the air handler/furnace...... before you installed the new thermostat??? You may have shorted out the transformer or blown the transformer fuse...... If you try to put the Fan switch on the stat to Fan ON does the fan come on ..... if it does the transformer is OK.. On the new thermostat did you program it to tell it that you had a heat pump system ???? Looks like you had it wired right. Here is a pdf manual for a RTH6350 http://customer.honeywell.com/techlit/pdf/PackedLit/69-2416ES.pdf

Its on page 13 Advance setup for tell the new stat that you have a heat pump....There is also a Honey well Hot line on page 2 Hope this helps.

My dog chewed up the t-stat wiring on my outside a/c unit (compressor?). I purchased some t-stat wire at Home Depot and replaced the wiring. At the outside unit, I connected the new white wire with the...

Hello,Yes there is a 3 amp blade fuse(same as in a car) in the blower unit, take off the door and it is plugged in to the(curcuit) board.Pull it out and slip a new one in.That will restore the control voltage.Your repair sounds correct. Some times there is a tiny button on the transformer itself (square box) that pops up instead of a fuse just push that in to reset it(if applys).

New t stat installed in the house but unit will not turn on. low volt coil checked. The new T stat says unit should be running auto cool no fan or comp running The unit is a carrier puron

some of these thermostats have an automatic time delay of five minutes built into them. Also there are many different thermostats so this is difficult. I would first check to see that Y runs to the outside unit. Also common (probably brown wire on furnace) needs to run to outside unit. If the thermostat has a R and RC both you may need to install a jumper wire that connect the two together. There is probably a fuse in the circuit board looks like an auto fuse. I would check this first of all. (if you bumped 2 wires together while changing the t-stat you probably blew the fuse.

Bought 44155c hunter thermostat air won't turn on.

If unit worked before you tryed changing t-stat then its possible the t-stat wires are shorting each other out.take t-stat back off cut back wires a good 6 to 10 inches or if you dont have that much wire to play with just cut back as far as you can and make sure there is no bare wire touching each other ,then just to test unit to make sure its working ok twist yell.,red, green together this should bring both units on and should blow cold.if this works up to this point on the new stat read directions closely there might be a jumper wire in the stat that needs connected usually from y1 to w1 you would install a jumper wire .see if this helps if not write back i have 1 other solution.i hope this helps

I have a coleman evcon t-stat that is using 7 wires. I want to switch to a honeywell th3110d non-programmable t-stat but don't know where the wires should go.

The most common wiring is: This sometimes varies as to installers preferance.
Red wire is your supply power to the T-stat. R terminal
Green wire is the blower fan. G terminal
Yellow wire is compressor contactor Y terminal
older units used a blue wire to Y
White wire is heat auxilary or black wire W terminal
Orange wire is reversing valve O terminal
Blue wire is the common C terminal
Black wire can be emergency heat E terminal
Best thing to do is replace wire for wire from t-stat to t-stat
or write down the colors to which terminal on the old t-stat and match to the new. make sure you SECURE POWER to the Air Handler, furnace and condenser before replacing any t-stat.
It is very easy to short the wires out if the power is left on and take out your A/H low voltage fuse or transformer.
