Try cleaning the lens using a cotton sdwab and alcohol. If that fails to resolve it, the optics are probably starting to fail. Depending upon which model, the optics may be Sony ones that are readily available and relatively cheap. Any service shop that works on audio gear should be able to help with this. Expect the optics to cost between $10-$40.

No sound Bose wave

I took mine back to the Bose store and they gave me credit on my Wave that was about ten years old toward a new CD wave radio. I would recommend taking it to the Bose store and see what they can do for you.

Why does My Bose Wave AWR1C2 radio only works on the alarm. Radio has no sound

My radio stopped working. I was able to take it into a Bose store and trade it in on a new radio. My old one was about ten years old and it did not have a CD player. I was able to trade it in on a new one with a CD player.

I copied some music to a disk with 4 different formats but the bose radio wont play any of them.

The Bose Wave Radio doesn't have a CD player. The Bose Wave Radio/CD does.

It will only play standard music CD's with standard CD Audio on them.

The manual is available at Bose.com.

CD does not engage to play/ on/off button does not work on radio

I hope it is still under warranty and can be replaced, Bose products are littered with problems.

Pool loading of the CD can be a simple lens cleaning or a defective laser/transport.

First step is to unplug for 10 minutes then replug.

Failing that find the nearest service centre.

Hope this helps!

Non-working CD in Bose wave radio

Try replacing the battery on the bottom of the system - alot of people miss it because you have it constantly plugged into the mains, but replacing this (somehow) re-sets the system, and 9 times out of 10 solves the issue.

Bose does not release their parts lists or schematics, effectively creating a monopoly for parts and repairs. In fact, their web site says that the Bose factory is the only option for service or repair. They used to list a flat rate repair charge on the web site, but removed it - probably because it scared too many people. Their troubleshooting guide (below) might help, but it's very simplistic.

Before you invest in expensive factory repair on one of these trouble prone sets, you might want to investigate the new HD radios -- better sound at a MUCH lower price.

No power

Unfortunately Bose will not release their schematics or parts lists, effectively giving them a monopoly on repairs. Their web site, www.bose.com, offers to repair most Wave radios for $100 or to give owners of broken sets a $200 allowance towards the purchase of a new Wave. Before spending the big bucks though, you might want to check out the new HD radios. Better sound and a MUCH lower price.
