SOURCE: Amana Dryer belt instalation

Remove the power to the unit and the bottom access panel. Remove the front bulkhhead where the drum sits on by undoing four screws one for each corner.Verify felt seal on exhaust fan cover is airtight on flange of duct. If seal is installed improperly air flow will be restricted which can cause poor dryer performance.Belt must be positioned around cylinder between center and rear bafflescrews with the ribbed surface against the cylinder. You gotta push up on the spring loaded idler pulley the easily slip on the belt to the motor shaft. make sure that the ribbed part of the belt wraps around the drum and motor shaft and not kinked.

SOURCE: Amana dryer belt

You will probably have to open it up from the top and/or back. If the belt looks alright (it probably won't, though), check the belt tensioner. Carefully observe how the belt goes on and around the tensioner before replacing.

SOURCE: How to open the dryer and replace the belt

all dryers open from the top so open the dryer door and look inside the top edge you will see two screws . remove the screws and lift the top panel . the front panel has two screws on the top one on the left and one on the right remove them both and lift up the front panel to remove it. the only way you can install the new belt is removeing the front panel because the belt goes around the drum from the front. once you remove the old belt out put the new one in . the belt goes around the drum from the front and then to the motor and idle roller . you can reach the idle roller from the front left corner or from the back of the dyer? i like to install them from the back cause its more easy. in the back of the dyer where the hose goes connected to the blower is the top with four screws remove the hose from the blower tube and remove the four screws. after you remove everything you should be able to see the dryer motor and idle rooler put the belt over the motor first then over the idle rooler .always make sure when you do this the dyer is unpluged and after your done plug it back and turn it on to make sure it runs correctly . if it runs ok put everything back together again.

Amana dryer model ngd7200tw smells like gas when it runs and it's not heating up

That is dangerous. Call for service, the law says only registered gas technicians can work on gas appliances. Turn the gas off at the rear. There is enough gas in a dryer leak to blow your windows out on that floor. The igniter or thermocouple is faulty.

Why does the dryer make a noise and shut off early

Dryers are pretty simple when it comes to shutting down. It is either over heating or out of balance from a bad belt. I would start but taking off the vent and doing a thorough cleaning of the entire air path and vent coming off the back of the dryer.

Amana front load dryer model NGD7200TW wont heat

Amana? Huh, I thought they only made Frigerators!? OK, You have to locate the Four heat sensors on your dryer and run a voltage meter through them. You put the meter on just the volume icon so that when you touch the two leads it makes Contact and emits a sound. That means it is a good circut. You have to test each one of these sensors to see which one is bad.

if you rapped the belt around the pulley and it's not tight enough then you popped the spring off of the pulley, you'll have to pull the drum again so you can see where the spring connects to the pulley, here's the sears site, put your model number in,click on cabinet parts and you'll see number 15 tention spring, this has to be connected to the pulley arm.http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Amana-Parts/Dryer-Parts/Model-NGD7200TW10/1268/0151200/W0712024/00002?blt=06&prst=&shdMod=
