SOURCE: My bobbin thread keeps coming to the top of my

With the embroidering, some of the bobbin thread is SUPPOSED to show on the top of your embroidery-the machine isn't doing anything incorrectly. You'll need to thread your bobbin with the same thread as you are using with the top. I had the same "problem" when I first got the machine and took it to a wonderful local technician whose helped me with a lot of things who informed me that this is perfectly normal on embroidery machines.

Where does the tension spri ng go on my babylock 1550 bobbin winder

It may be worthwhile to purchase a new bobbin case for your machine. Trying to re-attach the spring will most likely cause the spring tension to change making it difficult to get the tension correct. Bobbin cases do wear out and really are not all that expensive to purchase. A lot of sewists keep more than one bobbin case on hand so they can adjust a specific case to accommodate the tension for specific thread weights.

How do I fix a bobbin that keeps clogging

Try raising your top tension. Begin at four to start. Make sure you have the thread under the tension disc. Set the bobbin resistance to be equal to the top tension. This is an approximate setting. You are attempting to make it equal the top tension. If there are still problems you may replace the bobbin thread with quality thread.

I am having problems with the lower thread getting tangled. I have removed the bobbin and shuttle and cleaned, but it is making a weird rattling noise and still is not sewing properly. I don't see a w

Firstly, check if the bobbin is placed in correctly. It actually goes in with the thread counter clockwise.
Next, you might be simply using the wrong kind of thread. The cheap dollerama stuff is bound to get clogged. That's why good thread which has undergone factory quality control costs what it does and in terms of ease of sewing, is well worth its price.

Kenmore bobbin issues

try these suggestions
Bobbin thread breaks
1. There is a right way & wrong way to insert the bobbin in the case --when you insert the bobbin in if it doesn't stitch correctly turn the bobbin over see if that helps or bobbin case is not inserted correctly
2. Lint has collected in the bobbin holder
3. The bobbin is damaged & doesn't turn smoothly
4. Lower thread tension is two tight

I have the Kenmore sewing machine #16231. When I was sewing the bobbin holder popped out and a bunch of thread bunched together and wrapped around the bobbin and caused bunching of thread on my fabric...

Bunching of thread is 99% a top tension problem. Make sure you thread the top thread correctly. Thread the machine with the presser lever up. Test the tension by lowering the presser lever before threading the eye of the needle, by pulling the thread with your left hand and adjusting the tension with your right hand while slowly pulling downwards. There should be no resistance when the tension dial is on zero, and you should be able to feel more resistance when you increase the tension. Ideal tension is between 3 and 5. When your top tension is correct, your machine should operate correctly. If you feel no resistance with the presser foot down and the tension dial on 5, check the tension disks for fluff or broken thread. When you lift the presser foot, the tension disks should open and you would be able to remove any cotton or fluff. Good Luck

Bobin jumps when sewing

Could be in around the wrong way, poorly wound or not under tension correctly. Or even the wrong bobbin for this machine.

I suggest that you check that the bobbin is correct, ie do you have several that came with the machine and are they all the same in shape and diameter? Consult the manual if you have one.

Nextly, wind a fresh bobbin taking the thread from the spool through the tensioner (if your machine has one on the top) and then onto the bobbin. Keep a little tension on the thread spool with the handle of your scissors to ensure that the bobbin winds smoothly and evenly. Use your finger tip to nudge the thread to fill all areas of the bobbin. You want a neat smooth wind so the thread will then flow smoothly off the bobbin when it is in the machine making stitches.

Now, load the bobbin into the bobbin holder or bobbin case as per your manual, ensuring the thread is correctly into the tension spring and bobbin is rotating the right way around.

Now thread up and test sew again.

Thread keeps breaking

Have you got the needle in the correct way around - the thread must lie in the groove in the needle. Is the machine correctly threaded? Try release the tension a bit and check that the bobbin tension is not too loose and bunching up under the needle plate. The instructions for bobbin tension setting are:- Check that the thread is tight around the bobbin. Make sure that the bobbin is in the right way around - the bobbin thread should double back on itself coming out of the bobbin holder. The bobbin tension adjustment is the small screw in the plate on the bobbin case that the thread passes under as it comes off the bobbin and goes out. This might not be exactly the same as yours but should give you an idea of the position.

Bobbin thread keeps knotting

1. Do you mean that there are knots in the bobbin thread?
2. Is the bottom thread in your stitching looping and knotting.

If yes to 1. you need to rewind your bobbin fresh, and keep slight tension on the thread reel that you are winding it from. Put the handle of your scissors into the top of the reel to apply a gentle pressure while winding. Keep your eye on the bobbin as it winds and give it a nudge with a finger tip to ensure it winds the bobbin evenly top, middle and bottom.

If yes to 2, then you need to check your bobbin threading, is the thread even under tension. Is the bobbin tension set correctly. Break out your manual and revisit this to ensure it is set correctly.

My bobbin thread keeps breaking off

Check that upper thread is correctly threaded and has proper tension.
Check bobbin tension.
Check that bobbin is installed correctly.
If those things don't work we'll go from there.

Bobbin issues

Take out your bobbin case... there should be a small screw fixture on the side of the case...turn screw anti clockwise until you get the correct tension ... To test the bobbin thread tension...Remove the bobbin case keeping bobbin attached and hold it by suspending it by the thread...**** it once or twice, if the tension is correct the thread will unwind by about an inch or two. If it does not unwind at all...tension is too tight. If the tension is too loose it will drop too much. Goog Luck
