Did you bypass the on-off switch or the low oil level switch? Try opening the oil level switch wire.

SOURCE: I have a Coleman Powermate pm0545007 generator

there should not be pinched wires...

if you mean "how do I bypass the low oil SENSOR" then the answer is to just disconnect it and tape up the end or snip it off in a location where it won't ground out...the way these engines kill the spark is by grounding the cdi coil wire...so fix that pinched wire and youre probably good to go...dont disconnect the low oil sensor unless its causing trouble....having low oil protection is good and might save you from blowing an engine

SOURCE: engine will not start. no spark. oil level is

There may be a engine control switch on it. It will be on the engine somewhere. it is differnt then a circuit breaker on the outlet panel. It also could be a bad ignition module.

On a Generac model 1646-2 generator is the oil level switch normal open with full oil level.

I don\'t know, but change the switch or bypass it. They give plenty of problems & motor would start sometimes & not others.....Check the oil & rely on old style tech. I bypassed the switch on both of mine.after they gave problems & wouldn\'t run when needed....I only got a second one when I needed power & the switch was the only thing wrong ( I found this out too late.) & ended up with 2....

Hi, if it re starts immediately and requires choking it is a fuel related problem. If it has to sit for a while before restarting, check for lost spark as soon as it stops. If no spark make sure the unit is level and oil is full when sitting level otherwise the oil cutoff switch will shut it down. If oil and unit levelling are ok and there is no spark the cdi unit is most likely faulty. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

The motor wont start

This could be a few different things. 1. Check oil level, if your machine is equipped with a low oil sensor the engine will not start if oil is low. 2. Check the spark plug, remove it and place it against something metal and crank the engine over while looking at the spark plug to see if you have spark. Don't hold the plug because you will get a shock. 3. Check the carburetor, remove and clean. Check the air filter, make sure its clean. If these steps don't work let me know.

Could not start engine but headlight can be turn on no problem.

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

Headlights are on a separate circuit from the ignition.
What must happen for ignition.
1. Engine crankcase fully serviced with oil (Low oil level sensr will ground ign. if level is low)
2. Operator sitting in seat.
3. Clutch brake pedal fully extended (in some cases fully depressed)
4. PTO clutch disengaged.
5. Key switched to start or run

Check your ignition spark. If you don't have a 2nd person to help you get a paint stick and staple 2 wires on it with a small gap so you can hold it. Attach one wire to the spark plug cap and attach the other wire to any ground. Just make sure that the wires and the gap are far enough away from you so that you do not get zapped. (wires you use can not be chaffed!)

(Ignition is not fused)

If you do not have spark... first disconnect ONE wire from the oil level sensor and try again. If you have spark.. clean the low oil level sensor INSIDE the holes.
Still no spark you will have to jumper safety switches one at a time until you locate the faulty switch. (Pedal, Seat, PTO)
If you need a wiring diagram I need your mower model number.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

My 5250 watt Power Back generator will not start, and their is no spark at the spark plug.

Have you check the engine oil level? If it is down on oil you won't get spark because of the oil level switch shutting the ignition down to protect it's self.
