Hello Kevin, try to connect a monitor to the monitor output, and see if it shows that it is working, if so, you would have broken the interconnection Flex with the screen
Also try, disconnect it from the power grid and take out the battery and let 30 minutes pass and replace the battery, and connect the power supply and test if it works
If with all these tests, you do not get results, look for a specialized technical service
I hope you can solve the problem
Greetings Franco Dosil

SOURCE: Toshiba Satellite 1405 - Power problem

Hi Don

Although symptom is showing that AC Adaptor is not working as its not providing power to the unit. I will suggest you to perform some basic troubleshooting steps. Check if outlet is working if not check with known working outlet. If you have a multimeter you can the output of the AC adaptor.

Also you can perform full power cycle and component discharge. Take the battery out and disconnect the AC adaptor press the power button and hold about 7 seconds. After that put the AC adaptor in and test again.

If issue persist take to nearest Service center check with known working AC adaptor. After that I believe you will figure out the best solution.

Good Luck

SOURCE: I just replaced the mobo in a Toshiba l555d s7910

you should test or replace all leads make sure they are securely seated and are not bad/faulty that are attached to your (((motherboard to your hard drive))

one bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive
Test the leads that attach to your ((hard drive from the motherboard)) or replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your ((motherboard to hard drive))

hope this helps

SOURCE: How do you replace a laptop screen l555d serial

1. Turn off the computer and remove the battery.
2. Loosen the plastic frame bordering the Toshiba Satellite L555D-S7005 Screen. This frame is attached to the notebook's back shell and holds the screen in place. Pry open two to six small rubber seals from the frame and undo concealed screws.
3. Detach the frame after removing all screws. Hold the bezel from either side of the screen and gently pull it away from the screen and toward you. If the bezel seems to be stuck, find any points of attachment, such as clips or hooks, and undo to detach it from the outer shell. Work with your fingers and go all around the frame to release and completely detach it.
4. Free the LCD panel from its position in the notebook's lid. When you remove the bezel, you will notice that the screen is held in place, enclosed in hinges. Undo screws from either side of the screen to release its attachment to the lid. Place a finger at the top center of the screen to keep it from falling down as you remove the screws. With all screws undone, tilt the panel and lower it face down onto the keyboard.
5. Disconnect the power cable and video cable from the screen. The power cable connects the screen's power source of the lcd inverter to the backlight lamp attached to a side of the panel. Unplug cables from either end of the inverter board and unscrew the board from the base of the screen. Next, find and unplug the video cable a broad, ribbon like arrangement taped to the back of the panel. Pull at the plastic head of the cable to detach it.
6. Remove the screen. With the screen's cables unplugged and inverter board removed, it is completely detached from the notebook's display assembly and may be safely removed. Pick up the panel from the keyboard and keep it to a side.
7. Orient the replacement screen by bringing it to the work area and aligning it to the laptop's shell. Gently rest the screen on the keyboard and attach the power cable and the video cable. Raise the screen and attach the inverter board to its base. Plug in the inverter board's cable to the screen's backlight lamp. Screw the screen in place and reorganize the display assembly.

SOURCE: how to remove hard drive

On the bottom of your laptop should be a piece of plastic that is rectangularly shaped. It should have some small screws in each corner. Unscrew those screws and then slowly grab the hard drive and pull it up on the opposite end it is attached and once it is at about 45 degrees pull it out directly away from the area it is attached.

Hdd light does not come on during power up on toshiba l555d-s7005

If the screen stays black it means there is an issue with BIOS. It should load before the HDD ever does. Mother board issue or monitor issue.

I have a Toshiba L555-D-S7005 laptop. When I turn it on it it starts up but the monitor is blank

Can you hear windows start up or does nothing happen at all? It could just be that you need to re-seat or replace your ram. There should be a cover on the bottom to get to them. Just push the clips on the side of the sticks and they will pop out. Then just put them back in. if there is only one stick/slot there may be one under the keyboard too. I don't know how the keyboard comes out on your model but there's usually a couple screws on the bottom either with a "k" next to them or a picture of a keyboard. If you can hear windows start up its probably a bad lcd or inverter. If you can hold a flashlight at an angle against the screen and see a picture it's more than likely the inverter.

C500 Laptop won't come on power button just flashes

Have you tried attaching an external monitor when the LCD screen is disconnected from the motherboard? this connector is located under the keyboard strip – a piece of plastic just above the keyboard.
If it works, this way, then the video cable isn’t seated properly in the connector on the back of the screen. Plugging the video cable back in should fix the problem.
I don’t know how comfortable you are with taking apart laptops but I think that this information could be useful for you.
