Sounds like a BIOS password was set. You can open it up and disconnect the BIOS battery. That works on most models. Google the specs of your model and try it. If that is your problem you can't use a recovery cd. You can also just reload the OS with the original cd and you will know if it is a BIOS password because it will not reload the OS from the cd because your BIOS password will appear first. Rady

Yes - the SDHC memory card is a different format than the regular SD card. If you're trying to read the card on the laptop, chances are the reader slot is not capable of doing so even though it fits. You'll need an adapter that reads the SDHC to USB and connect it to the laptop.

try removing the battery from the laptop and plug it back after 3 minutes... It should wipe the bios password...

if your TOSHIBA laptop is doing this then check the RAM(memory)
if the problem persist check the Processor,

This is a typical error message you get when the CMOS battery cannot hold on any charge. This battery powers the CMOS memory which stores the BIOS settings, date & time while the laptop is switched off.
In order to resolve this problem, you need to replace this battery. Normally, this will require that you disassemble your laptop partially or fully in order to get access to this battery & replace it.

This seems like a bad battery again. Take it back witht he laptop and have the shop or store test it. This is not a software issue...

you will see a page in the toshiba website, click on product guide

go to page 196 & 197 to access settings and reset the same. If this does not work you have to change the RTC battery (referred in page 119)
