Have you checked your batteries in the remote? It is also possible to have either a bad switch in the remote or bad remote. If that is ruled out, then it has to be in the Vizio.

SOURCE: Vizio P4 Plasma green blotches

OK Service tech came out last night (7pm) and repalces the main board and updated firmware to the latest. he said the red/green snow is a fairly common problem with the early units (mine was a july 2006 build). Picture is fine now but we will see how long the fix lasts. Main board was definitely the issue, firmware upgrade was prob just because they could.
Keep in mind this unit was OUT of warranty. I find it refreshing that Vizio took responsibility and set up a service ticket for a 16 month old unit. Not that they shouldn't last a lot longer but they could have just said tough luck.

Philips.com should have a software upgrade for your TV to fix the problem. This is a common problem with Philips TVs and they have made upgrade software to address the problem.
Go to the Philips web site and all the procedures for download to your TV will be there. The only thing you will need to this is a USB memory stick. Download should be FREE.

Vizio D65U-D2 worked fine went to bed woke up turned it on the Vizo v shows up the goes away and nothing.

This article is intended to help with a blank screen, or no picture at all. If you are getting an error message on your screen, we'd recommend searching for the exact error message.

1. Check to make sure your TV is powering on.
  • >Sometimes, when you're not getting a picture, it's because the TV isn't powering on. To determine if this is a display issue, or a power issue, check the power light on your TV. It will likely be in the center, of left side of your TV. If the light is coming on- so is the TV. If it's not, Click Here for help troubleshooting a power issue.
2. Power cycle the television.
  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the TV or the wall outlet (whichever is easier to access.)
  • Hold down the power button on the side of the TV for 5 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord, and power on the television.

3. Press and hold the 'Mute' button on your remote for 5 seconds to ensure your screen isn't muted.
  • Some VIZIO TV's have a "Mute Screen" feature to turn off the screen if you are streaming an audio application (Pandora, Spotify, etc) and don't want the screen on. To activate/deactivate this feature, hold the mute button for 3-5 seconds.

4. Press the 'Menu' button on your VIZIO remote to see if the menu appears.
  • If the television is showing a menu, we can tell the TV is working. In this case, it's likely a problem with the device you have connected to your TV. For tips on troubleshooting your device Click Here.
  • If the Menu button doesn't bring up a picture, and you've completed the above steps, Click Here to validate your warranty and request service.
