Additional handsets must be registered to the base. Registration to the base requires specific key entries doubtlessly brand specific. A user manual may be helpful regarding such. Here is the procedure for Panasonic phones:

How do I fix base unit battery charging system not property working when I leave hanset on base unit automatic dead when I lft hanset for answer incoming calls?

It is highly likely that your battery pack needs replacing. If you have had it for more than a year and use it often then it is quite possible. You can buy a new one at radio shack online or search for one similar on ebay. Price is about 10 pounds though.

If you have more than one of these phones it may be worth while buying more than one as it will save you postage and might get you a discount.

Hope this was helpful

Batteries will not charge on phone

Try cleaning the two metal contacts o the base of the hanset and the the two spring loaded contacts on the base/charging unit. Use an alcohol based solution such as glass cleaner or surgical spirit on a cotton bud or piece of kitchen paper.

If that does not work it may mean that your batteries need replacing.

5. Allow to sit for 30 min
6. Reconnect Phone Cord to base
7. Reconnect Phone cord to wall jack
8. Reconnect AC Adapter to wall outlet
9. Reconnect Battery to hanset until you click or feel the plug snap into place
10. Re-Register Handset by placing on main base in most instances.

Detect phone problem

Have you checked to see if there is a channel selection on the handsets? Do you get any sound thru the noisy phones from the phone line when you try and use it? You may check and see if there is a frequency programming adjustment, the three hand sets may be on a different frequency harmonic and need to be programmed to the correct frequency. The one that works good is probably the one that came with the base unit. The base unit should have a sticker on it telling the frequency it uses. There is probably a way to program them thru the key pad. Get out the owners manual and see what it says. Good Luck, RAC

Siemens Gigaset 4200

Hello, Yes this happens when you add a additional handset to the system when all the intercom numbers are full. When registering a new handset, it "kicks out" on of the other handsets when it registers. The only way to correct that problem is to default your base and register each handset again, one by one. You won't lose your handset settings, but you will lose your messages and greetings, so check them before doing so. To default your unit, get all your handsets and go to your base. Unplug the power from your base. Hold down the page/registration key on the bottom of the base and keep it held down while you apply power to the base. After applying power, keeping the button down, count to 20. Then release the button and get each handset. Register each handset, and they will number themselves 1 through 4. If you need additional assistance, service or need to purchase another handset or base (you can register each handset to up to four bases to increase your range, this is unique feature in the cordless industry), you can go to www.cordlessrepair.com for all your Siemens cordless needs. Good Luck ! Let us know how it goes, we have a testimonial page on the website for people to leave comments on the technical tips or assistance they receive from our technicians.
