SOURCE: New belt for Necchi Lelia 513-

Hi. I hear such wonderful things about these Italian-made Necchi! Here are a couple of places you should be able to find your belt:

http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/sewing-machine-belts.aspx

Guy Baker at http://www.sewingmachineparts.net/ always seems to have (or be able to get) just about anything.

http://www.sew4less.com/category/43/Belts_Motor_and_Timing

and, finally: http://sewing-machine-parts-store.com/list.asp?subcat=Belts

Hope this helps!

Happy Sewing!

SOURCE: why is my singer SEWING MACHINE prelude HAND WHEEL RESISTING

Make sure the bobbin winder is in the position away from the bobbin stopper. When you fill a bobbin, you have to push the "spindle" towards the handwheel. If you do not push the "spindle" back into position (away from the handwheel), the wheel will remain locked.

SOURCE: Question about Necchi 537 FA

necchi's are good sewing machines, I personally own 2 necchi's,
and I've never had any problems with them and I've had them for around 10 years, here is what I suggest
use a new needle--one that is for the fabric your sewing
rethread the machine top and bobbin--use every thread guide
try a different bobbin
clean under the needle plate and in the bobbin area for lint
call a sewing machine repair shop in your area and ask them how
much a necchi sewing machine is worth or check on ebay and see
what they are selling for.
since you inherited the sewing machine,, having the machine
serviced completely would be a good idea, that way they can check
to see if the grease and oil that the gears and parts use is fresh or
needs to be replaced and it's very important the grease and oil are in
good condition.
and they can make sure the machine's is timed correctly
ask how much a tune up cost for a sewing machine and then
you'll have to decide if the price is what you want to pay.

also since the sewing machine is doing repeat loops from the bobbin
adjust the top thread tension just a little at a time till the stitch looks
normal on a scrap piece of fabric
if you don't have a manual on the sewing machine let me know & I'll try
to find you one.
I've been sewing for 30 years, and like I said I have 2 necchi's already
and I had one other one before these 2 that I have now and it lasted me
for around 15 years and I wore it out making clothes.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy or except another necchi because I know
they are good machines.
I have a mechanical and a electronic necchi and my husband uses the
electronic one when he makes quilts.
good luck on your decision

If you are near a sewing repair shop bring your old wheel in, they should be able to match it up for you. If they can not you can mail it to me at chris dewitt, 1891 Cardinal Drive, Shakopee, MN 55379 and I'll match it up for you and ship one out to you, there are few different styles. Usually they are under $2.00

Best of luck and please rate my solution.

When I push on the peddle of my sewing machine nothing moves.

The rotor motor must have gone bad.

Please take it to a service center around you for proper repairs as it will not cost much.

Good luck.

The foot pedal does not make the machine sew but it sounds like the motor is working. The machine does work when you manually turn the hand wheel. It was working before I put the cover on the machine.

Is the belt broken ?
Unplug, remove the side panel at handwheel and check....use the old one as a sample to take with you to buy a new one...DO NOT adjust the belt too tight on installation, it will overburden the motor.....or have the repair shop do the job for a little investment in peace of mind

My machine won't spin the bobbin to thread it up on top. it sounds fine but it just won't spin it.

either the bobbin winder is seized or the rubber wheel has broken or come off. if it has seized you will need to dis-assemble it and clean out old gummed up oil and grease and re-assemble, or replace rubber wheel.

Left prong is broke off the machine plug.

If the power inlet on the actual machine is broken, you will need to find a local Janome dealer and see if the part is still available to order, or any sewing repair shop that deals in servicing all brands may have an old one from a deceased machine that will suit you.

I am not familiar with this model in Australia, it may have come out with a different code reference here.

Phone around locally is my suggestion, we here come from all around the world.......beyond the oceans of where any of us call home !!
