Well... I have an answer you will not like. Typically devices like this are difficult to find software for after you loose the media that came with it (often times not in the box/package). A simple web search did not return results, in situation like this you can nasally find results in a forum with the software link, however I was not. So our next option would be to get it from a company that sells it, but if you did not buy it from them they will to be helping you. This is mainly due to the fact the files are not online to download but only shipped with the product and in which case they ship you the media. So what company did you buy it from? That way we can press them directly for the media. I do not have the unit so I can't check the manufacture but even if we could its possible the company that made it would be inaccessible. Good luck

QUESTIONS:
is the reader writer a USB or parallel cord? (they have both.
If it's USB you need the 256K card otherwise the regular card, and yes it can work you just have to have the right card for your reader writer.

Hi Sheila,
Click on start, click on My computer, then look in the left hand menu for View system information and click on it, click on Hardware, click on Device Manager, your VSM reader should show under Universial serial bus controllers, normally at the bottom of the page. If there is a yellow ? mark next to it, it means the driver has not been installed successfully. If so, double click on VSM reader, click on driver, make sure your software CD is in your cd drive and click on Update driver. Should solve your problem.
