SOURCE: Rolling horizontal lines on 62" Mitsubishi

That problem is caused by failed Capacitors on the signal and FMT power boards. which is a very common problem for mitsubishi TVs. There are repair kits available for the V26 dlp which contain the capacitors and instructions on how to do the repair. Heres a link check under the repair kits category.

TV will not stay on

You have done everything that a consumer can do. The problem is most likly in the horizontal section of the tv. This will be something for a repair shop to fix.

To fix or not?? 1990 Hitachi big screen

Sorry the answer is no. If the rolling pic was the only problem you had then yes throw a new signal board in and move on. In this case your picture not being as sharp as it used to be will also be tubes going bad..18 years not a bad run on three tubes that run extremely warm. Have fun on your upgrade to lcd or dlp proojection this will cost less than the fix of your tv.

I am trying to fix a Sharp 27k-s100 television.

Can you use the remote control to change the channels? If not, it may be that to need to reprogram the remote to work with your TV. I just had the same problem. I have GE universal remote and have reprogrammed it to work with my SHARP 27k-s100 TV by following these instructions: http://www.ehow.com/how_9190_program-ge-universal.html The code that worked for my TV is 173. Other codes listed for SHARP are: 004, 006, 012, 029, 095, 111, 112, 113, 122, 171. Good luck!
