SOURCE: Janome 6600 displays E3 Error. How do I correct

Hi
Direct from the Janome workbook E3 error relates to:
"Stepping motor for tension release (MC6500P & MC6600P only)"
Ensure there is no lint or thread trapped between the discs of the top tension unit.........try "flossing" where thread goes down thru tension unit with a scrap of clean fabric.
It may also be the mechanism that releases tension when the presser foot is raised....it is a sensor and may be out of alignment...not really an easy home fix.
Let me know how you get on, just remind me of the issue as I respond to many.

I can't turn the handwheel on my Janome 6600 it's extremely tight and causing my machine to stop sewing

If it has been maintained regularly it will probably need service. If it has not been cleaned and oiled on a regular basis I would try to do that first.

Janome mc 6600 manual was lost in a recent move, can I download one online? I found one for the 6600P but not the 6600 - would the manual be the same for both machines? Thanks much!

You can probably compare the features and pictures of the two machines. More than likely, the manual would be sufficient for you. Most of the time, the only difference is that one machine may have a couple of additional features or accessories.

My new Janome 6600 has Error 1. It maybe a blown fuse. I live in remote WA no sewing machine repairs here. Has anyone attempted this. Is this something I can do myself ?

Search for:

Make Model Error 1

also if you look in the manual's Troubleshooting Section, it will probably tell you what the problem is and how to fix it.

When I sew backwards on my Janome 6600, the tension is messed up. The tension is perfect when I sew a forward stitch.

try rethreading using EVERY thread guide, and if that doesn't help you might need to see if the feed dogs need some adjustment

Janome 6600

I've always been able to get a free PDF downloadable manual from Janome. They are happy to send you a manual for your specific machine via email, and they've always been very helpful to me. Here's a link to them:
