Lowering feed dogs You can lower the feed dogs by moving the switch at the back of the free arm to the left. Move the switch to the right if you wish to raise the feed dogs. Note: The feed dogs will not raise immediately when the lever is switched. Turn the handwheel one full turn or start sewing to re-engage the feed dogs.

SOURCE: Feed dogs do not come back up after lowering

Are you talking about the feed dogs or the presser foot. Either way, if you moved a lever to lower them, there is probably a screw that either fell out or has become loose that holds the linkage to the lever.

SOURCE: Raising and Lowering the feed dog on Janome 4900 MC

These machines are known to have this problem. The feed lift cam has a groove worn in it that won't allow the feed dogs to come back up. It is on the lower shaft and needs to be replaced. You can get the feed dogs back up by taking off the needle plate and lifting them up manually while turning the hand wheel. They should stay up until you drop them again.
Some people will not replace the cam and live with it.
good luck!

SOURCE: feed dogs

I was having trouble with this too, but found more help online...you have to switch the dog feed back to 'up'....then turn the needle wheel toward you....the feed dog should snap back into place :)
Hope this helps :D

SOURCE: Feed Dogs on Janome 1600P

I recently purchased a Janome 1600P-DB and in order to do free motion quilting I had to cover the feed dogs with an index card. I also cut a small section out of the card to allow for the thread and needle to move freely. Standard tape was used.

SOURCE: How do I remove the face plates on a Pfaff

The plate is not screwed in, it is held tight by a couple of metal springs on each side. Just take a small regular screw driver and gently pry up the face plate. You may have the presser foot lowered by the switch on the right side of the bobbin/shuttle area slide it so the presser feet raise.

Tension not responding to the thread tension dial and the stitching doesn't meet in the middle and is not secure. I'm using a Pfaff Ambition Essential.

Install a brand new needle.

Remove all the top thread from the machine, ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning (this insures the thread is completely seated in the tension disk). Verify the thread path is correct.

Set the top tension to the midway point (the factory standard), but you may need to tweak it because every machine differs.

Can the presser foot be raised slightly on pfaff tiptronic 2030 to facilitate free motion quilting? There is not enough clearance with feed dogs down to freely move material to quilt. Thank you.

You need a special foot for free motion quilting--it is slightly shorter in height than a regular presser foot, which essentially provides space between the presser foot and the needle plate to manually move the fabric. Sometimes machines came with a standard darning foot accessory. Your Pfaff dealer probably has at least one style in stock. But there are other specialty feet you can probably use, ie Big Foot, clear free motion foot, C-shaped, oval, etc. You can also purchase a shank adapter (verify it is the correct shank for your machine) and use it with a kit of snap-on presser feet so you can have a variety of presser feet for different functions.

"Hello, I have the ambition 1.5, absolutely love it. To switch the font to normal stitching you have to delete or save the sequence. To delete it just tap the little garbage photo and to save tap the heart. With that done you then go back to your stitching tab select a stitch and tap the little garbage bin to erase sequencing and go back to normal stitching."

Bar that sewng foot is attached to for raising & lowering suddenly will not drop sweing foot all the way down to plate. Any suggestions on how to fix?

Perhaps you accidently moved the switch that enables free hand embroidery? It's up and under next to the pressor foot lever. Slides forward and backward. Forward the pressor foot will go all the way down to the feed dogs. Slid back and it keeps the foot up off the feed dogs but allows the thread tension to work properly. It would be easy to accidently move it when operating the pressor foot raise/lower lever.
