SOURCE: Washer Leaks from Detergent Compartment

Two things might be wrong with this unit.  One problem is there is a blockage inside the hose that sends water into drum.  Make sure that's clear.  The other problem is the dispenser assembly may have a leaking problem and will spray water at an angle that will cause it to leak through the dispenser drawer.  My recommendation is to have the dispenser assembly inspected and possibly replaced.

SOURCE: BOSCH WASHER REPLACEMENT PART

I have the same problem. Bosch no longer stocks the replacement for my particular washer which has the same model no but could be a different fd #. I now have the wrong part as directed by bosch which doesnt have the hose connection. I am not sure what to do with the hose leading to nowhere. Bosch is living off of an undeserved good reputation.

In the present, the reputation is not deserved. Bosch products should only be recommended to enemies. The company and the especially the customer service is beyond deplorable. I hate these appliances. I feel ripped off! The part by the way, which is wrong, is 100.00 with tax.

The causes of the flood switch triggering is either too much foam in detergent (use recommended detergent) or leak in water in or drain pipe. Water is in the base pan below the drawer. Dry it out. Towel.

Why does the large reservoir in the door that holds the detergent leaks continuoulsy?

Over time old dishwasher detergent that doesn't dissolve during a wash cycle can get crusty causing the reservoir to stick or not fully shut. Also, some reservoirs use doors with a gasket seal which loses its ability to seal after many wash cycles. Some doors like this have a latch that wears and no longer latches. Not knowing specifics, it is difficult to diagnose. I had to replace my reservoir in my Frigidaire because I couldn't keep the door closed.

I just got a new whirlpool dishwasher and it is leaking water from under the cabinet when operating. When I took off the small panel on the bottom of the DW I could see a drip coming from above somewhere...

Hello

Too much detergent can cause over-sudsing, which causes detergent suds and water to leak out of the door. Whirlpool recommends that you use between 0 and 6 grains per gallon for soft to medium water and between 7 and 12 grains per gallon for medium to hard water. Only use fresh detergent, as old detergent can also cause suds. Keep large pots and pans away from the dishwasher door. Water can bounce off of these items and exit through the seal. Always place dishes in the lower rack to prevent the spray arm from ejecting water right onto the door.

The door gaskets create a seal around your door, preventing water from escaping. If the gaskets are brittle or torn, you must replace them. Clean the gaskets if detergent or food particles are stuck to them. Level the cabinet if the dishwasher is unlevel, which can cause water to squeeze through the door. You can raise or lower the dishwasher feet. Tighten the door latch, if loose. Water temperature above 120 degrees Fahrenheit can also cause leaks. Test the water temperature by running the hot water faucet in your kitchen. Insert a waterproof thermometer into the water. Lower the temperature setting on your hot water heater if too warm.

Your Whirlpool dishwasher can also leak if the tub is filling up with too much water. Check the water inlet valve and the float switch. If either one of these components is stuck, the tub overfills. Replace the component. Examine the water inlet valve if water is dripping from this part. The valve has a tube that goes from it to the dishwasher. Replace the tube if split or punctured.

Your dishwasher has a main tub seal. This seal must stay wet, or it becomes brittle and cracks. Unplug the dishwasher, and remove the spray arm, lower rack and impellers. Replace the seal. You have both inlet and drainage hoses on the rear of your machine. These hoses leak if they are split or not connected properly. Replace any damaged or crushed hoses, and tighten the connections if loose. Verify that the washers inside the hoses are installed properly.

I have a Kenmore Elite HE 4t front load washing machine. Code F ud is currently flashing and the door won't open. I've tried canceling but it just beeps and keeps flashing this code.

Remove the bottom panel. The tech sheet is located beside the white box to the left.088d3fc.jpg It gives diagnostic directions and failure codes. Suggest you clean the dispenser area up04f0b28.jpg and use the correct amount of HE detergent.
Seems to me like that is a suds detect:All front load washers require "HE" detergent (a low suds type detergent).

There are three commonly sold concentrations of HE type detergent.

HE : (2) Tablespoons Per Wash Load

HE 2X (double concentrated) : (1) Tablespoon

HE 3X (triple concentrated) : (1) Teaspoon

Most consumers follow the directions on the bottle or box of detergent--which is normally the correct thing to do. However, the amount recommended in nearly all brands of HE detergent are excessive & incorrect.

Additionally---using the correct amount of HE detergent will end issues with:

1) Musty Odors

2) 'LE" Errors (that can cleared by unplugging the washer)

3) L-O-N-G cycle times (longer than time displayed).
A 51 minute cycle can take 120 minutes to end.

4) Insuffificent Cleaning Results

5) Small water leaks behind the washer at the air vent.
(Suds oozes out during the spin cycle)

Leaking at the bottom of the door. Should I replace the gasket. ModelLDS5811ST

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If you have nuisance water leaks around the base of your dishwasher, you may be using a detergent that is causing too much suds. Cut back on the amount of detergent you use, and see if that makes a difference.

Water that spills through the door vent is usually caused by improperly loading dishes. Leaks from the door itself may be caused by a faulty door gasket or door tightness adjustment. You should check the main tub seal, the door latch, the door gasket, the water-inlet valve, and the fill and drain hoses.

Also make sure the dishwasher is sitting level (you can adjust the front feet up or down, and many units have some type of levelers at the rear).

Water under the dishwasher may be originating from a leaky hose or loose hose connection. Remove the lower front panel, and check the hoses. The pump seal may be defective, too; replacing this is a job for an appliance repairperson.

An older dishwasher may corrode at the bottom, but this is fairly uncommon. If this is the case with your dishwasher, it's time for a new one.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Slight water leak towards end of cycle

Did u notice the Quantity of detergent used? If the leaking water is soaping, it is an indication of excess detergent used that cause the leaks. Reduce the detergent n observed the DW running, or run the DW without detergent several times to remove all residual residing inside the washer. If not check the door gasket or change the door gasket.

Washer is leaking

Check the rubber bellow (gasket) around the door. This is the symptom of a door gasket that it starting to leak. Pull the rubber folds back and check the area where the gasket attaches to the wash tub. You may have a crack or tear. If the gasket is worn please replay back to this post and I can give you advice on how to replace it and where to get a replacement gasket.

Kitchenaid dishwasher leaking from door

Check the screws on the pump cover under the lower spray arm (the spray arm is easy to remove, the screws are torx - maybe a torx 10 or 15, so a regular screwdriver wont work). They come loose on ours every 6-12 months and spray water at the door, causing it to leak all over our wood floor. I routinely tighten those screws now before they come loose enough to cause the problem.
