I have a Dewalt 20v Max brushless impact driver who's warranty expired 2 months ago. Ive never had any issues with it up until last week. Initially it wouldn't start at all despite changing the battery multiple different times. Eventually it worked intermittently, and then when it did the light would not turn off. It seemed like every other time I pulled the trigger the driver would work for maybe 3 or 4 mins, then nothing for about 10-15 min. Eventually I gave up on it and switched to my drill. I took it to a local authorized repair station and they told me the module was bad and it would cost $128 to fix thus not worth it. Is there an alternative to buying a new driver or troubleshooting this issue?

Take the whole drill apart and check all electrical connections and switches. Make sure that the switches test out properly and that all connections are clean and seated correctly. Hit the motor with some compressed air to clean out as well. Be sure that the trigger is hitting its switch correctly and nothing is broken. Don't assume that the repair shop did this already. If it is in fact the module you may be able to find a replacement on eReplacementParts.com .

SOURCE: my dewalt cordless drill stopped working in the middle of drilling a hole. is the trigger faulty/broken?

First before you open the tool ground yourself. The switch is probably static sensitive. Now open the tool and check for wires that may have come loose from the switch, or motor brush area. If no bad wires make sure the switch terminals are ok (not broken or bent and are tight enough to make contact with the batery terminals). Next check the brushes and make sure they move freely in the brush holders. You didn't state the model so it may not have brushes you can access. If all that is good disconnect the motor from the switch and secure the motor in a vise. Take wires with alligator clips and connect the battery directly to the motor for just a second to see if it runs. If the motor runs you have a bad switch assuming your battery is charged.

SOURCE: Hitachi 24v sds hammer drill issues with speed when pulling back trigger switch sometimes works other times nothing, already changed dc speed control trigger any ideas to what the problem is? Thanks

faltering on a slide contact on electric field or switch, but in most cases dirth (dust) in carbonbrushes can be hanging somewhat in one or both brushholders.
Or a problem in the trigger switch itself dust and dirth have almost the highest priority in case of faltering by clamping carbon brushes.

We have a dewalt 20v max sawzall with a fully charged battery when you pull trigger it does not run only beeps?

is it brushless? if it has brushes make sure they move freely in their box otherwise the motor isn't getting power. if it's brushless either there's a connection problem with the smaller battery wires telling the saw each cells voltage or the motor controller is bad.

Hi I have a Dewalt 18 volt impact driver (DCF 886 brushless) I've had it for just over 12 months and now it is no longer working properly.

I would bring it to an authorized service center and ask for warranty - there are not individual replacement parts, all the electronics come as one assembly, and unfortunately the brushless controllers are very expensive making the tool not worth repairing.

My dewalt impact gun dcf885 when I press trigger the motor starts then dies

Mick, this could be a sign of a worn out/faulty motor, mine did this, ripped it apart and it was the motor. Yours may still be under 3 year warranty if you can find your receipt.
