Charging current drops at 0A or 0.1A if the cells are depleted below 3.5V Only workaround was to plug/unplug multiple times till the charging power goes around 0.5A. Got the recomended charger made by XTAR too! Still no fix...Anyone fixed this problem somehow?
Ya, the internal protection wants to protect your XTAR from "shorts"... that low voltage fools the regulators. I have one just like yours and mine can't be 'tricked' into charging no matter how many times I connect and reconnect.
If you bypass the regulators you may cook your batteries ~ if you forget about them in the charger; so "smart chargers" are your best bet,
After my XTAR I purchased a POWEREX and it was much better, but failed too after just 4 months. Sadly the seller is out of business. Now I'm using a really crummy charger I really don't trust...

basicly there are 3 pins on the top of your phone (take the battry out and you shall see them on the far end) get a pair of tweezers and push the clips in and hold for a while ... slot your battrey back in and put it in charge it should work :)
Yes. You are right. Here energy is not the criteria. It is always safe to unplug the charger (when not in use) to prevent the damage of a cell phone due to accidental over load of electricity or short circuits. Moreover Chargers do draw power when plugged in, whether or not a device is actually being charged.
If the charger is plugged in someplace easy to access, like right by where you keep your phone, you should unplug it. But if it would be difficult to have to plug it in every time you need to use it, you'll be fine just leaving it plugged in..and.It still uses energy even when not charging. Any electronic device plugged in a socket uses energy whether it is in use or not.

try removing the battery and just use the mains power. If the laptop works you may need a new battery. If it doesn't your charger is faulty.

Try charge that batteries over 3.5V first and see if the XTAR charger will still reject them.
I guess the main problem lies in the XTAR firmware, if the max depleted voltage limit will be lowered with a 0.2-0.3V...it should behave so much better!
Wish i was able to help modify that firmware myself but is not one of my skills.
