Compound miter saw model 2124014 sold by Ace Hardware

Not much available for that vintage saw. The switch might be a possibility from a similar saw. Send images to one of the spares companies. Epoxy resin could fix the handle.

The safety pin on my brand new porter cable miter saw wonā€™t pull out?

Hi Wanda, I know this suggestion is a couple of months too late to be useful, but I ran into the same problem with my brand new Porter Cable miter saw. In order to pull out the safety pin/lock, you need to firmly wiggle the "switch handle" a bit. The "switch handle" is what the instructions call the main handle near the blade that you will eventually use to pull the saw down and make your cuts. The weight of the blade and motor appear to put some pressure on the lock pin and prevent it from disengaging. Hopefully that helps someone that runs into the same issue.

Product just arrived, saw is stuck in cutting position

There is usually a safety or transit lock or pin which is engaged to lock the saw down for safety and for a more convenient way or transporting it.

The ones on my saws are a simple ball-headed pin sited close to the hinge of the saw which can be easily withdrawn once enough downward pressure has been applied to the saw to overcome the return spring pressure.

Cant pull out locking pin on miter saw

There is a heavy spring which is trying to hold up the saw that is working against you. Press down on the handle of the saw so that it moves down a little, now you should be able to pull out the pin.
Good luck.

How do i unlock the safety position on my Ryobi miter saw?

There should be a metal pin on the back left side(tool facing you) near the pivot point. Just pull this in or out to lock/unlock the safety position.

How do you release the saw blade from the closed position on a Hitachi C10FCH 10" Compound Saw?

Hello, W/D here.

At the back of the saw, where it hinges, is a pin that locks the pivot joint. Push down on the saw handle while pulling the pin, then allow the saw to rise to the ready position. Reverse the order to store the saw.
Best regards, --W/D--

My saw is really stiff when you try to change the angle .I oiled it but this didn't help. I would like to know how to take it apart but I am un sure how to do it and what is in the boxed off area...

Exploded diagram with parts list for LS1016 10" Dual Slide Compound miter saw is here.

Owner's manual is here. If these aren't quite what you need, you can view other models of Makita miter saws, here.

One thing to bear in mind. There's a miter angle lock and a slide lock on the bottom front of the saw. If you don't have the miter angle lock loose enough, it will be difficult to turn the saw.

If this answer was useful, please vote for it. Thanks!
