My Sandisk zipclip is frozen; says I need to connect to a PC to delete >20M of contents. Yet I can't get my PC to recognize the device. Sandisk tech support is unresponsive to my requets for help.

Anyone know how I can get my computer to recognize my zipclip so I can either delete files or reinstall the firmware? I have tried trouble shooting based on info I found on the Sandisk website, but nothing has worked so far.

SOURCE: Sandisk sansa e200

I had this same problem on my sansa and tryed the previous solution with no luck. Out of frustration i email the sansa technical support. Try these steps to format the player: -Turn on the player and access MENU > SETTINGS > USB > MSC - Once the player is set to MSC mode, reconnect it to the computer and open the My Computer window. - Once you see the Sansa icon in the My Computer window, right-click it and choose FORMAT - In the Format window, choose FAT 32 and make sure that Quick Format is NOT selected, then choose START -Once the format has completed, disconnect the player from the computer to allow it to refresh. If you plan on using Windows Media Player to transfer files, return to the USB menu and set the player to MTP mode. Otherwise, leave the player in MSC mode and you can now resume transferring files. Formatting your player will deleate all files but you can putt them back on!!! Best of luck!

SOURCE: I deleted files in garmin 205W now I lost voice and languages

I also had this problem while trying to register a Nuvi 205W. I talked to someone at Garmin tech support and found that I was using USB cable that was only meant to plug in to my computer to recharge the unit. I have now sent for a data transmission USB cable, will see if that solves the problem when it arrives. Hope this helps.

Sandisk e260 froze after power up.

sounds like a firmware program problem and will have to be replaced. You could download an updated firmware but you will have to get a pc connection.
After your device is plugged in, are you able to go to  "my computer" and see a drive folder that has your device on it.

Deleting unwanted songs

The Sansa M200 series devices do not allow deletion of downloaded content directly from the device. You must connect he device to PC/Mac via USB to delete downloaded content. You will also need to use media software such as Windows Media Player, Rhapsody, iTunes, etc.. to see all of the music content on the player to be able to delete the songs you don't want. (i.e. just viewing the device in Windows Explorer might not show everything that is on he player.)

My computer cant open the file in my e250

1. Plug the sansa into your PC. If Windows does not recognize the clip, unplug it, turn it off, and then put the clip in "hold" mode by placing the on/off switch into the hold position. Hold down the middle button on the Clip while you plug the clip back into your PC. It should recognize it.

2. From "My Computer", find the sansa icon and choose format. Note: this will delete all your music files on the device...

3. Download the firmware updater for the sansa
http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376

4. Follow the instructions to update your firmware.

Sandisk 240 1.0 gb

I had this same problem. What I ended up doing was going into My Computer into the device itself and seeing what showed up. It appears a few new songs I popped on there the day after were appearing but nothing else. I deleted all the files, unplugged it from the computer and let the library update, old songs were still playing. Plugged it back into the machine and voila they showed up.

Cruzer Scandisk 2.0 titanium

Hi, Not unless you are using Windows98, your PC should automatically recognize the SanDisk Cruzer Titanium as a "Removable Storage/Device". Driver is not required for Windows ME, W2k or XP. If for some reason the SanDisk Cruzer Titanium (non-U3 devices) is not recognizable, then perhaps it is not a problem with the PC but with the SanDisk. Pls try all other USB ports of your PC (front and back). The SanDisk website provides utilities/software for this kind of eventuality. They are Sansa Firmware Updater and Sansa Connect Recovery Tool. Both are available at http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx. Pls be forwarned that some utilities can and will reset your SanDisk to default and any or all data can and may be deleted. Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things are or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.

Frozen

You can put it into recovery mode and you should be able to fix it. First download this from the SanDisk Website; http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downloads/firmware/e200fw01.00.12.exe Next, put your device into recovery mode. - turn the device off (hold button for 20 seconds) - slide the 'hold' switch into the hold position - press and hold record button while connecting it to the PC. Keep holding button until you see new hardware found on the PC. Then run the recovery tool from sandisk. Make usre you select "format" when prompted, this will erase all of the information on the device, as well as, install an older version of the firmware. Best of Luck.
