Which fax is the remote fax?

I have a refurbished Lexmark x4270, and when a fax is coming through, it stops because there is a remote fax error. What does this mean? I it my fax or the fax machine sending the fax?

fax says failed to connect and dont have instru. sheet any more.

I have a lexmark x4270 all in one. I can receive a fax, but get a remote fax error when I need to fax to my workplace. How can I fix this?

Having problems resetting date and time on my Lexmark. Any Suggestions? Also sending 9 pages out of 10 and stops at 9 with Fax Error showing on LED. Any Suggestions?

Check under control panel/printers and fax/select your fax, then see if you can "purge documents" it may be that some incomplete documents are still in memory, and need to be discarded.

We are not able to send faxes,the error message is 1200. The reference number for the fax is x4270.

The 1200 error indicates the cartridge carrier has stalled. It could be caused by a cartridge that's not properly seated or the encoder strip (transparent strip behind the cartridge carrier) is out of place. My lexmark all in one is stating error#1203 how do i fix the problem its a x4270 machine i was getting a fax and next thing i knowed was fax did not come thru and error#1203 poped up

We are not able to fax to one fax number only....when we try, our fax machine says "remote fax error ". lexmark x4270 yet, this one fax # can send us a fax with no problem and we can fax to everyone else...

Telephone the owner of that FAX machine, and ask them to "reset" their FAX machine.

I UNPLUGGED THE FAX MACHINE FOR A MINUTE, PLUGGED IT BACK IN AND IT WORKED FINE.

Remote fax error when sending a fax

Does it only happen going to one certain fax destination or every destination? There are some things to try on the Lexmark web site.

Go to www.lexmark.com and click Support->Technical Support. Type in 4270 in the 'Search by Model' box. Type in 'Remote fax error' in the 'Search the Knowledgebase' box. There is a topic called 'Problems Sending a Fax to Specific Fax Machines' that has some good general tips.

Lexmark fax machine series x4270 has an error code saying #1200

Search by Model ,after that choose Lexmark X4270 ,after seconds a page will open and then in

Sendidng a fax

I have been sending and receiving faxes for over a year on my Lexmark X6100 printer. Now whenever I try to send a fax it will say it is sending the pages but then waits for a redial. After doing the same thing a second time it will print out "remote fax error"

The definition corresponding to this error message is this: "The print carrier stopped before all of the data was used." To resolve this issue, please do the following:

Power the printer off.
Remove all cables from the back of the printer.
Reinsert the power cord.
Switch the printer back on.
Check the operator panel to see if the 1201 error message is displayed.
If the error message returns, the printer could be defective. Contact Lexmark Customer Support for further troubleshooting and warranty options.
