Just got a Blackberry Pearl and have had many dropped calls after having poor reception. Any idea how to solve this problem?

Install Blackberry desktop manager, connect your blackberry with your pc, clear all databases.

i have the same problem which only occurs when i get off the elevator to my apartment. someties the bars come back but often they don't. so now before i get in the elevator i call voicemail and don't end the call until i'm in my apartment. the call doesn't get dropped and when i end the call, the bars remain.

you might have the call dirversion set to on. check that in your call settings

Try taking the battery out for a minute then putting it back in and see if it will turn on. Otherwise the display may be broken, did it get dropped?

If it was spotty reception, I'd suggest the antenna may have been damaged when dropped. They do get damaged.
But systemic, timed 16 second bursts?
In Settings, when is your phone configured to 'go to sleep'? After how long a period of inactivity?
It may not be considering the radio signal is be sufficient activity to justify keeping it 'awake'.

that triangle means you have activated your roaming feature on your phone......so you should contact or visit your carrier and have them deactivate it for you.

try going to options -screen/keyboard and adjusting the trackball settings

Possibly an issue with your internal antenna but the real issue may lie in your coverage area. Check your providers website for coverage maps in your area.

Unplug battery from phone then put back in to see if it helps with the dropped calls.

I have A Blackberry Pearl I can only hear if I use the head set or speaker any solutions the phone hasn't been dropped, I have taken the battery out and put it back in still cant hear unless I use handset or speaker
