Without knowing much about their history, I'd guess it's a 1953 or 54.

Might be worth asking the guys over at Military Surplus Collectors Forums - there's plenty of talk of the m48 and m48a, and the blokes there seem to know their stuff when it comes to production dates and serial numbers.

Thread Yugo M48 Markings - Not the A model, but they talk about it toward the bottom of pg1.

What would you recommend for the most accurate load for a 6.5x55 swed 96 mauser using a 140 grain bullet

48 grains. That round is hard to reload. You are probably out of spec for chamber clearance.

I have a old rifle I need identify on the top it says fabrica de armas, 1929. Serial number is 2v5420. Im thinking it might be a Spanish master 7mm but im not sure. Do u know?

FABRICA de ARMAS OVIEDO,ESPANA = Manufacturer of Arms in Oviedo, Spain.
They were a major manufacturer of mauser type rifles for the Spanish Military
It COULD be a Spanish Model 1916 Short Rifle, or a Model 1916 Carbine.
Manufactured 1916 to 1951 they are a shortened version of the Spanish Model 1893 Rifle.
Originally chambered in 7mm Mauser (7x57mm) many were converted to 7.62 Nato (aka .308) in the late 1950's when Spain decided to adopt that round for the Military and the Guardia Civil.

BUT.....not ALL were converted to 7.62!!!

Serial#854480 model94 Winchester rifle what year was it made

You can contact the Records Office of Cody Firearms Museum at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. The Cody Firearms Museum holds the records of 3.5 million individual Winchester firearms and many LC Smith and Marlin firearms.

Information that may be in a record includes the date the gun was received into the warehouse, the configuration of the gun, and the date the gun shipped out. The company to whom the gun was sent may be available for very late Model 1873s and 1886s and most of the run of the Model 21. There are no records for the Models 42, 12, 54, or 70.

There is a charge for Factory Letter information but this and any other questions should be answered by contacting the Records Office.

Winchester 1894/94 Serial Number List Determining date by serialization has become confusing as it has been determined by the staff of the Cody Firearms Museum that previous work by George Madis is incorrect. This is not due to the quality of work performed by Mr. Madis, but by the questionable data provided to him.
