You need to get the code from your cell phone messenger. Google will text it to you. If you don't have the cell phone, you have to try the "more options" to login. If it is your account, you can answer the questions instead of getting the code if you don't have your phone with you. The link says something like "MORE OPTIONS" or "TRY ANOTHER METHOD" ...something like that, look for it. If you can't do that, you are in trouble.

How to unlock a phone which has failed verification and may not work

Is it Google Verification? Or is it different phone and foreign carrier.

You can just phone the company that supplies the service and they can give you the 12 digit PUK code.

All questions need full 'make model (what it is)'. Various help here

When they send my verication code to my in box ,how do i get back

It is usually a 6 digit number that you are asked for elsewhere. Who is 'they' and what is the verification code for? Maybe update your question so we can better help you.
Note that verification codes are often sent to phones as text messages so that you can log in (know as 2-step authentication). Is that what you are looking for?

My 6- digit verification code

Oh, when I first saw it, the "google account" part was missing, my bad. you probably have 2-step verification turned on. The code should go to your messaging app on your cell phone. Check your cell phone. 2-step "could" lock you out, if you loose access to your secondary device, whatever it is...be cautious using 2-step verification. It does provide added security, but you should have a backup way to get in to your account, be careful. If you don't have the cell phone that was used to set up the account, you can "try" to verify another way, there is usually a link that says something like "use another form of verification" ...but you must have 2 forms of verification. IF by some chance this is not your account, give it up, you can't get in, that's the point, to keep out predators. It's very efficient because you need the phone to get in to the account. So if you don't have the phone, it will ask you all the personal questions to prove who you are. It's rare that people who own an account, can't get in to their own account. If you don't have the information to get in to your own account, I don't know what to tell you. But try the "MORE OPTIONS" LINK ...look for it, it's there.

I need a 6- digit verification code for google account unlock

If you are accessing an account which is yours and you have provided your phone number in it, just let google send the codes thru your phone. But if you have no phone recognize by google and you are trying to open an account which is not yours then you have a big problem.

I forgot my password then got text it said my temp password is 908140 I tried then it said wrong again

Hi
Some sites send a verification code via text as part of the password retrieval/resetting procedure, and this code needs to be entered n the verification page rather than as a password. Are you sure this is not the case here as I have had 6 digit verification codes from several sites in this way, and they did not work as passwords.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers

How many numbers in a verification code?

Usually the code is 6 digits, but it could vary.

When Google sends a verification code as text it arrives on your phone FROM a 'phone number'.

You have to open the text and get the verification code from the text message.

I've seen several people key in the 'phone number' from Google instead of the code inside the message.

A google verification code was sent to me ...what do I do with it?

A verification code will be send by Google, when you have set a two time verification to your account. It will be normally send to your mobile phone. It will contain digits only. When you try to ace's your account, by entering your email address and password, the window will ask you the verification code. Just open the message that you've got from Google, and enter the digits you see there, as it is; and press 'Enter'.
It is a security measure against unauthorized log in to your account.
To turn off 2-step verification:
> Visit the Using 2-step verification page under your Google Account settings. Sign in with your username, password, and verification code if prompted.
> Click the "Turn off 2-step verification" link.
> A pop-up window will appear to confirm that you want to turn off 2-step verification. Click "OK".
