How long does it run, is it consistant? Some units are equipped with economizer software built into the controller/thermostat intended to capture the refrigeration effect as the internal pressures equalize. If equipped it works like this, thermostat shuts down the compressor a couple degrees above the set-point, the fan continues to run taking advantage of the continuing refrigeration provided after the compressor shuts down there is still pressure pent up the Freon continues to pass through the metering device to the low pressure of the cooling coil and continues to cool as the pressure bleeds down. If your machine does not have this feature you have a bad controller, call a tech.

SOURCE: 2002 Nissan Maxima SE - Air condition not blowing cold air

simply "adding a can"is a good way to end up with non-functional A/C. the typical system has high/low pressure switches that enable/disable the system. you need to be at the correct volume of refrigerant as specified on the sticker under the hood. i recommend using the proper equipment, evacuating, pulling a vacuum, and then refilling the system with the appropriate amount.

I have a GE M# AJX06LFV1 window unit, everything is working but the AC will not turn on. Does this unit have something to keep it from running When it is too cold outside???

If it's a heat pump it might have a low temp sensor that locks it
out only allowing the heaters to run when it's extremely cold

My LG art cool a/c blades in the vent arent swinging (from left to right)as i keep pressing the swing key on the remote.. please help

In some models, there are swing and sweep motors. Swing will work the vent up and down. Sweep or air flow motor will work for louvers left to right. If sweep motor not works replace the motor. If no sweep motor option, you have to direct by manual only. Be care ful, when you are doing manually, switch of the unit. Thanks.

The air conditioning fan outside the house is showing frost on the coils, what is the problem

Are you using your Air conditioner as a Heat Pump (Making heat in the house)- or as an Air Conditioner (making COLD air in the house.)

If as a heat pump, then remember-- that the WARM coil is now inside the house-- and the COLD one is outside-- So, if it is COLD outside, there is not enough HEAT out there, to keep the coil from going below freezing-- The unit may have to be turned off, and allowed to defrost, if you want more heat from the Heat Pump-

Let me know if this helped

Cant keep cool

You need to check that tour filters are new. Then check that air is coming from the vents and is at least 15 degrees cooler than room temp. If no air coil is frozen, or blower motor and run cap are not working. If frozen than turn system to off and fan switch is on until you feel air through vents.
You'll need to make sure the outside unit is runing and the larger copper line is cold like a can soda. If it's cold but is freezing up, it needs to have a charge added. If its running but not cold and the fan is not running or the compressor isn't running it could have a blown capacitor. If its not running at all check. the circuit breakers and reset them. And a good idea to keep the outside unit washed with water, and that it is clear of weeds and stuff.

Fan is keeps jamming on out side unit machine runs but no cold air comes out

If the outside fan doesn't work , the compressor will shut off on overload and you won't get any cold air , so try to replace the fan capacitor and if still doesn't work , you have to change the fan motor.

Air conditioner fan is not moving air is coming from the vents but not cold

Air conditioner probably has a failed run capacitor inside the unit. Check all circuit breakers and/or fuses first.
