GE washer wJR4170G1WW wont wash or spin What could be wrong? I did forget to set the machine back to LARGE load after doing a SMALLl load so I'm pretty sure the stress of washing without enough water caused this. Is it some kind of belt? And how difficult is this to address?
Why wont my washer , a crocley front loader spin or fill with water
Changing from large to small load will not cause a problem. this could be a control panel issue. unplug machine, the try rotating load size dial back and forth a few times, plug machine back in and try
nothing would break because of load size selection, all that does is control the amount of water in the tub. will not harm anything other than the cleanliness of your wash
yeah, repair guys these days charge a fortune, thats why its best to try playing with the machine before calling them. watch for made in china machines

its not the changing the load size dial that I thought would break it. I figured I burned something up or broke something by washing a load that was too heavy with minimal water and resrticting free movement, I heard it make some louder than normal noise on the last load but not enough to make me check it. Its not loud now while it's going thru the cycle, so I know it's not the gears. And I dont see any oil anywhere. Let me try you're suggestion and I'll let you know! Thanks!
just tried your advice...no luck...=(
Had a repair guy out today. It was the Circuit control...I think thats what he called it...on top of the motor. Or maybe just the circuits on the control. Anyhow, since they don't sell those separate, said I'd have to get a whole new motor for over $200!! After some research, I found this to be a common problem on these GE washers before they are even 2 years old! Maybe even on all GE's..not clear on that. Just a buyer beware!!! cheaper to buy a new one after service call, parts, tax, and labor!...wow.
