Check if the processor fan is running properly. Also check the RAM modules, as these could sometime cause the machine to hang.

SOURCE: i need to buy a sound card for HP Proliant ML G6,
There are a number of ML G6 models, I looked at the lower end model (150) for guidance (if you can get a card that runs on the low end, it should run on others as long as all have the same interface)
From what I could see the 110 has the following expansion slots.
1
32-bit/33MHz PCI
N/A
N/A
1
Full length, full height slot
Non Hot-plug
2
PCI-Express
(Gen 1)
x4
x8
2
Full length, full height slot
Non Hot-plug
3
PCI-Express
(Gen 2)
x4
x8
7
Full length, full height slot
Non Hot-plug
4
PCI-Express
(Gen 2)
x16
x16
5
Full length, full height slot
Non Hot-plug
5
PC-Express
(Gen 2)
x4
x8
6
Full length, full height slot
Non Hot-plug
Depending on your budget and needs, you can spend anywhere from $10 to over $200. Here is a $30 dollar card (as an example), that would fit into #1 above (standard PCI slot).

For a higher end card, you can get one that uses PCI-Express (as opposed to PCI).
You just need to insure you have an open slot of the type needed for the card. You have a lot of options.
