You will need to send the data using ZPL or the printer won't recognize it , if you don't have experience in this area print through the Zebra Print Driver should work. In your application use Barcode 128 as the font and see how it goes

GryphonGM4100 i need to set global prefix. I select"enter Programming mode"->SetGlobal Prefix-> 02 ->"exit programming mode"(x2). It works If i select only 4 characters (ex:0202), but i need only two.

yes dear each two numbers represent one character.
If you go to ASCII chart two hex number represent one number , so to get prefix like for example these two characters AB you need to scan 40 for A and 41 for B so these 4 characters.

Best luck to you.

Is it possible to program the scanner to input all letters as capital letters?

The OCR of the scanner is designed to recognize what is on a page not retype it.
Scan the document to OCR, save it as ASCII characters (. txt on Windows systems). Use a basic text editor that allows you to select a text and convert it from lower case to Upper Case letters. I have not come across one yet.

Symbol Model LS 9208, Bar code Scanner loaded factory setting, its scans(beeps) but does not display /show in the notepad.

If the scanner is connected through USB connection, the barcode should appear in the Notepad. If you use the Serial connection RS232, the Barcode data are showed than in Hyperterminal or other application, which is interpreting data from Serial Port.
Please scan the barcode from Product Guide according to your connection. And check the scanned data in an application - Notepad for Keyboard Wedge or USB, Hyperterminal for RS232.

Casio TE2200 Cipher 1000 CCD RS232 scanner still not working

Jeff I feel your pain. I have never use a Cipher scanner, I stick with the well known brands like metrologic. I see them for about 385 each. I know you can get one for less used or online. When I set up the scanner I usually use the booklet and scan the codes into the scanner itself. Take 20 seconds or less. You probably did that but just checking. My answer is at this point and since its not in my shop, is, Metologic. Your casio's com2 is where the scanner should be and 298 should be 12000. I understand you can get it to work with hyperterminal but, that in essence means that the scanner works but not necessarily with the settings. These kind of issues are 99% of the time in the settings. The list I sent on the last message was the barcodes used to program the scanner. you know expand ean13 etc. that is where i still feel it lies.
Im doing my best I may have to set up my own scanner on my 2400 and see how it works.

Decoding properties EAN128. I need the data separator not to be removed (FNC1) for variable lenght application identifiers. How do i have to configure the 4410

If you generate your own barcode font, you may find the FNC1 character in the manual. In the ascii table for the font generator we use, the FNC1 character's ascii value is 102 +32 and is coded as (chr)134 in the code128c string. Most Iinfo online suggests the ascii character is 202 or 234 (?) or the character defined as "capital E with the circumflex", but that did not work for our barcode font.

Hello! I have a problem with scanning bar codes by ls2208 scanner. This device uses rs232 serial port, and when I try to read some bar code, the scanner is reading, but there is no number in notepad. How...

Hi,

The scanner is sending the data to the serial port. You need an application to pull that data in off of the COM port. You can test using HyperTerminal. The scanner defaults to 9600 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity and no hardware or software handshaking. Point HyperTerminal to the correct COM port (most likely COM1) and set it to the settings I just listed. When you scan you should see the data show up in the window.

If you want the data to go into Notepad or any other program expecting keyboard strokes I would recommend the Motorola (formerly Symbol) USB cable CBA-U01-S07ZAR or the CBA-K01-S07PAR keyboard wedge cable.

Symbol scanners (several models) not recognizing Code 39 Extended

The barcode must be a Code 39 barcode, not a Code 39 Extended or Full ASCII barcode. The Enable Code 39 Full ASCII must be scanned from the Symbologies section of the LS2208 Product Reference Guide (page 186 of 342). The Enable Function Key Mapping barcodes would have to be scanned if you are seeing something other than the tab happen when you scan into your application. In Word, for instance you will see the italics enable/disbled whenever the $I is encountered in the barcode.

As for the Covert to Code 39 Full ASCII- that is for Wand and Scanner emulation. The setting was having no effect because you were not connecting to either of these hosts.

Zebra Z4MPlus doesnt communicate with PC

Ok,

This machine has a parallel port. Try to print via parallel cable. If it works, consider staying with it. Serial ports are a pain to manage.
If you absolutely have to do it via rs232 though....
Question 1. Has it ever printed?
If yes, Go into Windows Printers and Faxes control and select the Zebra or whatever printer that you are using. Right click on it and you should get a menu that at the bottom say "Properties", select that, then you should get a new window with tabs at the top. You want the tab for "Ports". Select it and you will see all of the different output ports that you can direct your printing. RS232 is a COM port. So start at COM1, check it and try to print. If that doesn't work, go to COM2, etc.

Last resort, If you can't get control via the printer driver program, you will have to try redirecting the print manually (now you will understand why I said to stay with parallel output).
What you have to do is redirect your printing via the dos "mode" command.
Under "Start Menu" goto "Run" and put in "CMD" and click "OK".

This opens a black square window with a cursor blinking. Type in this:
mode com1:9600,n,8,1 (enter)

mode lpt2=com1 (enter)

Tell your program to use LPT2 if you can and see if it works.
By now a parallel cable instead of RS232 should be looking really good.
Good luck!
