Hey Lauren,
Sometimes when batteries are on there last bit of life they will show fully charged.. they will have the voltage specified, but, not have the amperage needed to drive the tool. It takes minimum amperage to get the blade to spin, but when you put a load on the tool, the battery doesn't have what it takes to handle the load.
It takes amperage to make the tool work under load..not just voltage. Sounds like its time for a new battery.
SOURCE: Nut problem
This might be a long shot, but have you tried turning the nut the opposite way? The nut will probably have to be turned the opposite way of the rotation of the blades. This might be the "wrong way". Some nuts are opposite to keep things from comming off. Like the nuts on the right side of my remote car to keep the wheels from falling off.

Somewhere on your saw is a serial and model number on a yellow and black tag.
Most saws have a bearing near the chain drive link. That is where I'd begin my search. HTH

The two screws under the blade hold the blades on. Removal is not the problem, refitting and aligning is. The stationary blade must jut out about 0.010" more than the moving blade or that blade will cut into the skin being shorn. Sharpening the blade is also a job requiring professional attention.
Hi
There can be a number of reasons why it stopped working. When you have already changed the battery, then it must be something wrong with the inner mechanism. Try cleaning the circuit board.Take the razor apart (you need very small Phillips screwdrivers). Clean the circuit board with small amount of alcohol and q-tips, being careful not to catch any cotton on the components of the board. At this point you can at least confirm that the motor is not burnt out and the batteries are charged by placing a flathead screwdriver between the positive terminal of the battery and the motor. It should come on if the motor and batteries are okay. Press reset button at then see if it comes on using the on/off button. You can do this step with the razor disassembled or assembled.
