Capacitor is only for the start up. It sounds like you saw is running with a heavy load. Is your blade sharp. Do you have good voltage to your saw .

You may need to soak the entire thing in a light oil overnight, see if you can take it apart then and clean all the parts. Do not use WD-40, it will leave a gummy residue.

Fixya does not sell Clarke saw blade nuts.

Blade Saws | Answered on Feb 14, 2019

I've had them stick too. I would shoot a generous amount of WD40 or other lubricants into the moving parts of the blade bit and work it till it frees up the mechanism.

There is nothing in the schematic that looks like a clutch or brake. Doesn't the guard come down and cover the blade when you raise it.

Insert a screwdriver crosswise between the teeth and the guide shoe. Be careful to remove the screwdriver before starting again.

Blade Saws | Answered on Jan 30, 2019

The shoe should not be removed. Refer to page 8 of instructions for blade. If the shoe is off or damage refer to instructions for warranty. Based on price it may not be cost effective to pay for shipping.

sounds like the resistor in the variable speed control is pooched to me...goes open and stops

I am no expert on your saw but on my table saw what I do is block the blade from rotating with a scrap of wood by hooking a tooth on it. Next use a wrench to loosen the blade nut (which is reverse threaded) and simply swap blades.
