The short answer is that it could interfere with the wi-fi, but your wi-fi should not interfere with your phone because it uses WDECT, "wide-band digitally enhanced cordless telecommunications" engineering. No matter how tight the bandwidth is on any RF transmission, power, proximity, and harmonics all play a roll. Ideally we want the power from our transmission to occupy the target frequency but the reality in RF is that this is nearly impossible without DSP filters. I have pasted some extra info below to help answer this question.

Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT), known as Digital European Cordless Telephone[1] until 1995, is an ETSI standard for digital portable phones (cordless home telephones), commonly used for domestic or corporate purposes. It is recognised by the ITU as fulfilling the IMT-2000 requirements and thus qualifies as a 3G system.


The four most common frequencies today are 900MHz, 2.4GHz, 5.8GHz and DECT 6.0:

900 MHz Currentlythe most common frequency for cordless phones, 900MHz phones may offera greater range than other frequencies. However, the 900MHz spectrum iscluttered and may result in interference with baby monitors and other900MHz cordless phones. Radio scanners can also easily pick up thisband. 2.4 GHz 2.4GHzphones offer better clarity and security than 900MHz, but mayexperience some interference with microwave ovens and wirelessnetworking (wi-fi) products. 5.8 GHz Themost advanced cordless phones available, 5.8GHz phones transmit on anew, open frequency and have the least chance for interference. Theywill not interfere with wireless networking (wi-fi) products. DECT 6.0 DECT6.0 operates on the 1.9GHz frequency. Though newly approved in the US,this frequency has been used for many years in Europe and can increasecall clarity and security. The wi-fi friendly DECT technology easilyintegrates into homes with wi-fi and internet services because the1.9GHz frequency is exclusive to DECT, making it interference free forcordless communications.

If that is the Voice Mail Waiting indicator light at the top of the handset and on the base, you need to press Menu on the base. Use the up/down arrows to select VMWI Reset. Press Menu again to select this sub-menu. Use the arrows to highlight Yes and press Menu again. You may need to contact your telephone company to make sure that the voice mail service is still compatible with the Frequency-Shift Keying message notification. Some broadband (particularly DSL) systems can cause telephone interference. Check with the broadband provider if you need a DSL filter (or similar item) to keep the interference from corrupting the VMWI information.

Only get static when answering machine comes on to record
Check for interference from appliances (microwave ovens, TVs, etc.) or wireless devices (baby monitors, WiFi equipment, etc.). Move the handset or base away from the interference source.

Will a cordless phone interfear with your internet or the cordless phone if its to close to your internet box?
A wireless router and wireless network adapters can have interference issues with cordless phones. It depends on the network adapter frequency and the cordless phone's frequency. Most problems will occur with a phone that uses 2.4GHz. This frequency will interfere with 802.11b/g networks and single-band 802.11n wireless signals.

A DECT cordless phone operates at a different frequency from the 802.11g and 802.11n single-band and will not interfere with a wi-fi network with those modes.

However, some routers and wireless adapters can use the 5GHz range (802.11n and 802.11ac, among them). These can have a problem with cordless phones that use 5.8GHz. However, there is a simple solution to avoid much of the interference at 5GHz. First determine the frequency range of your phone by getting the FCC ID from the base of the phone. Then use Google or another search engine to find "FCC ID Search Form". It has been at http://transition.fcc.gov/oet/ea/fccid/ in the past. The first three characters are the Grantee ID for the search form. The rest is the product ID. Look for the SAR report for the phone and then (probably on the second page) find the TX frequency range and the Max RF output power tested. Now go to the wireless router's setting page and make sure that it is using channels that do not use the same frequency and power range. Unfortunately the EMI/RF interferances are a conflicting part of our day to day life.
Now you have this conflict of the wifi with your cordless to interfere.
So one option is to keep the base phone off to another location away from the wifi.
Move the antennae away from the strong signal pick up to lessen the interference. If porblem started recently it can be fault in the base unit changing. frequency

Can the d-link dir-615 interfere with the telephone?
It can interfere with cordless phones. It won't with a wired phone.

The cordless phones operate in the same frequency band so sometimes they wil interfer a bit. What will hapeen is the voice or sound quality won;t be as clear or if real bad it will drop calls. The 2.4 and 5.8 ghz phones can have problems with the wifi and the microwave.

The newest Dect 6.0 style phones are designed to be immune from both microwave and wifi interferance. We went through a series of phones at home before we found out about the DECT 6.0 types and all of our problems went away.

My phone cuts off laptop wireless
Wifi typically operates in the 2.412Ghz - 2.472 Ghz depending on the channel selected. ideally the Wifi modem/router and the DECT phone should be operating in completely different bandwidths.

If your DECT phone is cutting off your Wifi wireless connection, then they must me operating in similar/same range: you need to change either your Wifi or DECT frequency 'channel' to minimize this interference.
Also make sure that there is a least 3 meters between the DECT base station and your Wifi modem/router to eliminate Transceivers static RF/EMF interference.

Uniden 3315 Frequency Problem
Your phone has Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT), known as Digital European Cordless Telephone[1] until 1995, The digital filters will prevent interference from the bandwidths used by phones and wi-fi.
Your phone also incorporates dynamic channel allocation which switches frequencies when noise(static) is encountered.
Eventually your conversations take a wire route down the road. You are getting some "cross talk", an actual scientific term used to describe signal transmission from one line parallel to another by magnetic eddy currents. I would call the phone company and have them trace the problem.

Extra Static on the phone recently
Try and position the base away from any sources of interference. The most common interference is caused by wifi or wireless routers and microwave ovens. Both these operate on similar frequencies well in your case a harmonic of anyways. If the antenna is adjustable on the base try and tweak it alittle and make sure the base is in the horizontal position. Hope these hints help.

question is are you running a pc and router/ modem on the same land line
if so you will need the line filters to the phone base
the computer data is transferred by the same land line and there is every possibility that the different frequencies is what is causing the static
reference from a uniden trouble shooter ( will be common as the phones use the same medium)
lots of noise or static on the line === possible solutions --check for interference from appliances ( microwave , tv etc ) or wireless devices ( baby monitors wifi equipment etc)
move the handset base away from the source
if you have any device that uses the phone line , add a DSL or telephone line filter to the system

it is possible from the times you state that the interference could be coming form a neighbour or further down the line so the filter may be the option
available from phone shops or places like JAYCAR
