There is a product out there called Affresh. It is a tablet that can be used on all front loaders that do not have a Clean Cycle. It works great. It comes three tables to a bag. You should use all three the first time that you do this. After that, once a month is all that is needed. Two suggestions to help eliminate the smell and mildew. One, keep a wash rag handy and wipe up any water that remains in the door seal. Second, leave the door open for a day so that the washer can air out. This applies to all front loaders, not just GE, that do not have a Clean Cycle. Also, water sometimes stays in between the inner and outer tub. This water can become stagnant and create mildew, mold, and odor problems. I hope this helps!!! -The Appliance Braniac

SOURCE: GE profile washing machine won't agitate it spins out, drains,

Pull the agitator out and check the drive collar splines. If you have the model I think you have just pull straight up on the agitator. Once removed you will see the drive collar with a 7/16 head bolt, remove it and pull off the collar.First before pulling it off spin it if splines are stripped it will spin freely.

Ge profile washer overflowing wpre6150k2wt

Hi, check to see that the small hose going from the outer tank up to the pressure switch in the console is connected on both ends and intact with holes or leaks. If so, you could have lint or other debris in the pressure bell on the outer tank OR you could have a bad pressure switch. I can assist further if needed.

I'm trying to get help to fix my ge washer top load. it fills, drain, but will not spin or agitate. the model is wpre6150k2wt

1st thing to check is the lid switch in the right front corner. It is magnetic and keeps the motor from running when the lid is up. If it goes bad----no run. Next would be the motor itself or the main control board. Either is expensive. Sometimes the motor goes into a lock out mode and can sometimes be reset. The procedure is in the wiring diagram inside the control panel on top.

Hi Shelly,.... This is what I was able to locate for you.

(Electronics need to be reset: Unplug washer, wait 2 minutes, plug back in and press START)

It's on page 9 on the attached manual for your machine. http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90351-2.pdf

Piece of cloth wrapped around and under the shaft of the agitator. Is there an easy way to remove the agitator and possibly pull out this cloth?

I don't know if this washer is very similar to a model wpre6150k2wt. My girlfriend had this very problem happen to her with her washer that is this model. The solution was very easy, I just unscrewed and took out the fabric softener dispenser. Doing this gave me access to a bolt that attaches the agitator to the gear that turns it. I then just unscrewed the bolt and removed the agitator. I hope this helps. Again if your washer is similar to ours it should.

The "floating drum makes out of round knocking noise in spin cycl

On the bottom of the washer tub is a "balance block?" that the bolt has loosened on. Have GE come repair it. We just had it happen to us as well. If you don't get it repaired it will cause more damage to the washer and then it won't be covered under the warrenty.
