The picture used to blink out occasionally but now I have no picture at all.I still receive the sound though.

I would based on model number indicated here first have a look at the lamp this model uses and also at the ballast that powers and is connected to it.

you MAY have a problem related to the HDMI and to prove or disprove it I would connect Component if you can.

Had a problem like this on my receiver also. Turns out my receiver is a stripped down model. My receiver even though outputs hdmi to my tv it only carries video. Weird I know but that was the problem. Are you also using a home dish? My fix was using a optical audio cable.

Tell me what components u are using. Maybe I can help.

Check the physical conenction of the HDMI cable.

hi i have replaced power controls boards in more than a few of these & this needs to b done by a expert .

tv will not power on. red light on switch blinks. power relay clicks, but no picture or sound.

Onkyo service told me, the second timethat I called them, that there is a known HDMI handshake issue with Motorola and Atlanta Scientific cable boxes. The only solution, and it was a solution, is to connect the box through the HDMI 1 port ONLY. All the other (2,3,4) result in blinking/dropping of signal. I did this, changed the cable/satelilte setting to HDMI 1 and all is well.

that deffinetly sounds like a short in the wiring yes it needs to go to a workshop or dealership or auto electrician

No picture - screen is empty. Sound is ok
Check IC101 (BA7630F), if video signal comes to input (pin 1) but not present at output (pin 14) then replace this IC
No picture and sound, only a high pitch sound at switch on
Remove horizontal transistor and measure the resistance across any two pins. This value should be no less than 200ohms
Picture fades away few seconds after start-up till no picture. Sometimes no picture at all. Sometimes picture OK for longer. Sound unaffected.
Faulty joints on CRT pcb. Cracked solder joints at tube socket connections on CRT circuit board. Caused variable supply to CRT heaters. Resolder all socket pins to pcb.

Self-diagnosis error 2-3 indicating deflection failure. Check for shorted or leaky Q5A37 part # 260P818050 located on PCB-Main. If found defective replace only the transistor instead of the Main PCB.
