There is normally a black top that you can lift up with your fingernail. I would not recommend using a screwdriver or any sharp item because small ribbon cables are extremely fragile.

Repairing plasma TVs is a highly difficult,complicate and skilled job. Components are also expensive. There may be several reasons for this problem. Well if you are handy with repairing, you may try checking the power board for some swollen capacitors and hopefully repair your tv. Beyond that, please let some good TV tech take over. Good luck.

you may have blown a fuse that protects the tv. check where the cord goes into the tv and you may see the fuse

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times.
