19 Volts? Input? Sounds like you're dealing with a laptop motherboard, and perhaps an Acer Aspire. Power comes on now, but battery not charging? Is there a PQ36 power MOSFET connected to the drain of the PQ35? If so suspect it to be bad. Also look in this power circuit area at all of the solid capacitors, for this circuit. Any black/brown/burnt looking? (SMD style. Surface Mount Device. Silvery rectangular shaped solid capacitors, and have a band across their middle) Also; IF you are not testing a power MOSFET correctly it will show bad.

ALSO:
Easier to replace the motherboard yes, but;

A) Where will the next generation of true electronic repairman/woman come from? Already we have nothing but a bunch of 'Parts Changers'. NOT tech's. Replace the motherboard; get a new laptop; get a new computer, etc.

B) That Power MOSFET costs about 97 cents USA.
88 cents for the SMD solid capacitors, probably.
Compare that to a L16.99, or L66.79 motherboard.

I commend you are at least trying; thanks!

Will not power up

Hi,
There are two possibilities,
1- Power adaptor is not working and the battery is drained - i suggest that you check the voltage coming of the adaptor using a multimeter or go to a repair shop and check it from there, you should get atleast 19v.
2- Power section of your motherboard is blown.

All in all i think take it back to the vendor for a placement if the 1st step is not positive.

Cheers

PSU could also be playing up and not giving correct voltage to motherboard - check outgoing voltage from PSU with voltmeter and check product standards for that model... If ok then it could be the motherboard itself - all it takes is a capacitor or transistor/logic gate(switch) and it will start behaving unusual...

With your multimeter set to DC volts, the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp (not on the point where the ground wire connected to the vehicle) and the head unit on (so the amp will have remote voltage applied), touch the red lead alternately to the B+ and remote terminals of the amp. If the voltage is below ~11 volts, you need to check the wiring feeding whichever line is too low.

If the voltage is OK, the amp will likely need to be repaired. If that's the case, do you want to repair it yourself? This amp may not be easy to repair. If you are not interested in learning to do this type of work, you should pay to have it repaired. If you want to repair it yourself, I'll try to help you through it.

P4M800PRO-M478 doesn't function

I had told you I changed one Fet that positively had burned. I placed a IRFZ48N, a more powerfull transistor, unecessary of couse but the only I had in my old things. But the board doesn't function and so I searched for more damages and yesterday I found two resistances of 0 ohms opened. I changed its by a jumper and power on the MB. Today it is running with a Pentium 4 2Ghz, the OS Windows XP SP2.
