Waiting for EC is engine controller failure you need to change EC or main board
Usually it fails while firmware upgrade time if you switch off or wrong insertion of powersupply connector in V6 and V5

SOURCE: ibm printer loading problem

Hi Twitike24,
Have you tried turning the printer off and on?If so,fully disconnect the printer and restart your PC.Connect again and then switch it on.Problem solved?
If not,try re-installing the printer drivers again. You can download from this
Hp support site in case you don't have the installation disks.

Hope this helps.Thanks!
