Rather better to run the fault codes to find the alarm cause and fix it ,
at least that way you will know what is wrong where as if you pull the fuse and something is wrong , it could become very costly

Compaq presario C700 continous beep when starting up

Potential Hard Drive failure, (Hard drive s.m.a.r.t. beep) or if MB beep it's chassis intrusion..

1. Remove battery + disconnect power
2. Hold down power button for 20 seconds
3. connect power only (no battery)
4. Turn computer on.

If the beeps stopped.. get a new battery, if the beeps continue..

I didnt use my laptop Acer Aspire 5517 for like 2weeks, when i had to turn it on it started with a continuous beep while loading BIOs. then stops at final start up.

Hello, From the problem you have stated, once there is a continous beep on a system or laptop, majorly it is a RAM problem, RAM means random access memory.Since you said it is making that noise, you can remove the RAM, clean it pins and re-insert it properly into its slot,if the problem persist then you need to get a new RAM,not just anyone, the one that is supported by your laptop. When starting up the computer, I get 5 short beeps then continous

These beeps seem to show that your system did not detect any RAM (memory) modules connected to it. Please check.

  1. Open the CPU case (turn the PC off first)
  2. Remove the RAMs from the slot.
  3. Turn ON your computer without the RAMs installed. Then observe if it gives the same beeps. If it is the same, then the RAMs might fail to register.
  4. Try to plug in carefully the RAMs in place. If you have 2 RAM modules, try to test 1 RAM at a time to see if the combination of the 2 mess up your system.

Server making continual beeping noise......

Sounds like one of two errors - either one of the power supplies has died (not sure if the 1800 has redundant power supplies or not) or a drive in the RAID array has failed. Most likely it's the drive. Run the Dell Server Administrator tool to check the health status of the array, sounds like you need to replace a drive. Most RAID systems fail if you lose more than one drive, so I'd replace that drive ASAP.

PC beeping, monitor will not display

we have different sound we can hear in cases of hardware problem, once the video card has loose contact it also beep continously, a beep sound also occurs when the ram(memory card) loose contact, one beep sound when it boot clearly it proceeds as go signal going to operating system. if you are using an upgraded video card remove temporarily and use the on-board from your motherboard. in case that it won't boot and still you hear a beep, beep ,sound then, switch-off the power take out the memory card clean the contact points(bronze color) with pencil eraser, make sure that no remaining residues of eraser remained before you install to the slot. i hope that this solves your problem
