Go to the App Store. Click on 'purchased' at the bottom of the page. In the search box, type in Facebook. It should bring it up so you can download it again.
delete and reinstall the app. To delete - press and hold the app till it wiggles then press the x on it. It may prompt about deleting app data and that's your call. first time you could say to keep. then reinstall the app and try again.
Try closing all apps then restarting the iPad. To do this, double-tap the home button to bring up multitasking, then swipe each app up to close it. Once all of your apps are closed, turn your iPad off then back on again. This will fix the crashing problem.
Hmm, best thing I can say is double tap the home button to bring up the open apps on your iPad. Then close the instance of the app (and any other apps) by swiping the screen images upwards. That should force the app to 'reboot' and may fix your problem.
Have you tried turning off background apps.
Bring up your recent apps usage with the touchscreen button that looks like 2 windows, when you see the list of apps put your finger on one and swipe left or right ,this should close the app .
Try using Task Manager also to close anything unwanted.
Look for an app called" Wake Lock Detector" ,It can tell you what is running in the background using up battery power.
Hope this helps, even if it is a bit late.

You may want to check that you are not running low on storage space. I have had it happen to me too and it turned out that there was not enough room on the device to install.
