How do I fix problem with Vizio m550vse LED TV? Flashlight test reveals picture and no back lights are visible.

I have replaced the LED Driver board. When the TV turns on it flashes the Vizio logo, including back light for a brief second, then nothing can be seen until all the lights are turned off and a flashlight is applied to the screen. So the screen is working, but still there is no backlight, even after replacing the LED driver board. There was absolutely no change by installing the new part. How do I fix this?? TV is barely over a year old. As a PC repairman my instinct is telling me that it could be a problem with the power supply or the LED's themselves, but don't want to waste (more) money on parts that won't fix the problem. Thank you

Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement.

In some models of LCD TVS; the backlight inverter and its T'Con board will be a part of the panel itself, and will be a built-in type inside the LCD panel. If so, they can't be replaced. In this case; a panel replacement is the only repair. For some other models, the backlight inverter section circuit will be a part of the main power supply regulator [SMPS]. To such sets, the power supply section circuit too should trouble shoot. Contact any service technician. The circuit will differ with models and versions.

I have a Vizio E550i-52 tv and the screen went black. I have audio, I see no light from the back and when I do the flashlight test I see a faint picture. How to fix?

Hey Matt, It was nice speaking with you on 6YA. If I can be of anymore help feel free to ask. Several other forums I browsed recommend replacing both the LED Driver and the Power Board at the same time and several say one at a time is fine. Replace the LED Driver board then go from there.
