Rented games (perfect condition even) wont play. period.

I am having the same problem as you guys. Only games rented from Blockbuster won't work. The rented games have little to no scratches, but don't work....while other games which have the radial scratches work just fine.

No matter how long I try, I cannot even get it to recognize what game it is. If would hold out long enough, I would just install it to the hard drive.

Most of the new game disk have security feture to prevent copy. if some one rented and copyed its toast. The console picks this up and will not play it. If you can find some one to mod your console that will get past the security feture it should work but you lose the warnty

I rented a game from family video. disc plays with sound but the picture is scrambled. all other games work just fine as well as the homescreen.

Hello,

You said all other games work fine on your video game apart from the one you rented from Family Video. I think the game you rented is not compatible with your video game.

Take the game back to Family video, return the game and collect another one. Or test the game with scrambled picture on a friend or family's game and observe if it's going to play with the scrambled picture or not.

This is to verity if the problem is from the game or from the disc. But from my own point of view, I think the game disc is incompatible with the video game........

Let me know if this is contrary to your question....

Regards.

I have a 40GB ps3 and when i put mlb 10 the show in from blockbuster(rented)the ps3 did not read the disc, although it does read DVDs and has internet access working. What should I do?

Blockbuster "Cleans" their DVDs/BlueRay Discs/Etc....

.......Using a Buffer-type device to basically rub all the scratches off........
and fill them in as well.........

........So.........

Just take the disc back and ask for a new or better copy to rent........they won't charge you again and they'll extend your rental days to accomodate your inconvenience.
That Should Solve The Problem!

Please Rate Me & fill out a quick testimonial, k.

Thank You! I appreciate it.

The blueRay Disk that we rented from Blockbuster does not play in PS3. When we take it out... there is a line across the disk

OK, take it back to blockbuster and get another copy. Tell them that it was like that when you received it ;)

I have played mainly blue ray on my ps3 now that i have a new game rented from block buster it says the game is encrypted

Go to blockbuster and tell them they rented you an encrypted copy which indicates it's fake. explain EVERYTHING you did to avoid a charge/fine. the last person to rent it probably screwed it up somehow.

Fails to read disks other than Super Mario Galaxy

Here is why Wii wants you to upgarde,

Wii wants you to upgarde since last ver. can not be hacked. So Wii makes people to upgarde by using the games, so that the more you upgarde the harder it is to hack the Wii. If Wii can be hacked, you can play copied games, you can go to blockbuter get a game, copy the game in computer and make copies at of it, so that you dont have to buy the game. And your wii is able to read the copied games

Now lets start with your problem,

Well now it will be even harder to downgrade the frimware of you Wii. (Wii doesnt want you to downgarde). Try to upragde it again if that doent work then upgarde it from the Wii's web page at Wii.com

There can be a problem in you Wii's upgardeded frimware.

Can't read disc

Possibly a bad, or more likely, a damaged disc.

It's not uncommon, especially with often abused rental copies.

Tell Blockbuster - they should give you a credit on the rental.
