Magnovox squiggly lines when cable is plugged in.

please check coils which are very near to LVDS jack these are open these are interface coils between panel and main board some are open

This is important:
3. A. If you have a PC and a: • 6, 7 or 8 channel (5.1, 6.1 or 7.1) sound card: Connect all 3 colored plugs from the audio input cable to the color-coded jacks on the sound card. 1. If jacks on your soundcard are not color coded, plug the audio input as follows: • green to front L/R (or #1) • black to rear L/R (or #2) • orange to center / sub (or #3) • 4-channel sound card: Connect the green plug from the audio input cable to your sound card's front jack and the black plug to your sound card's rear jack. Do not use the orange plug. • 2-channel sound card: Connect the green plug from the audio input cable to the "line out" jack on your sound card. Do not use the black or orange plugs.

It can be that the video card in bad or any electrical part need to be fix and i recommend to send it to a repair shop.

it gets plugged into the tv not the cable. audio out of dvd into tv and video out of dvd into tv

The failure(s) in your TV is related to a part called light engine or optical block and Sony TVs are known for these kind of failures with the video showing with different colors or lines.

check the yoke plug solder joint, as the squiggly lines in the middle usually happens if the yoke is unplugged. So check the yoke plug connections.

Is the problem there on every source? DVD playback ok?
Suspect signal source  box.

May have bad connection since move.

Is the problem same on every channel,if source is cable direct?
