How to take off upper control arm on 96 integra

Remove tire, remove lower ball joint, remove cv shaft, remove strut, then remove upper control arm.

Ther is another way to do it but it can be frustrating, You could take tire off , remove the upper bolts in the engine bay and the upper balljoint from the car but the bracket will stay hooked around the strut, There is a thinner metal on the backside of the upper control arm that is removable but requires patience and force, then it will fall into your hands without disconnecting the strut cv shaft or lower ball joint, But you have to remember to reinstall the thin plate before reinstalling the upper ball joint

Upper control arm.Do i need to remove the shock first

I believe the shock goes through the control arm, you shouldn't have to remove it at all.Unbolt the brake hose from the control arm, remove the upper ball joint nut and pop it loose, then just remove the two pivot bolts. If you do remove the shocks be sure to have the lower control arm supported or the torsion bar will swing the control arm down with a lot of force. Be sure to get an alignment after reinstalling the upper control arm. The pivot bolts are the adjustments for camber and caster.

How to remove the upper ball joints on a 2001 Ford Explorer Sports track

You will need to jack up the vehicle and also support it by the lower control arms as well as the frame. Remove the front wheels and place them aside.unbolt the upper control arms.....and wedge a pickle fork between the upper balljoint and spindle to knock the upper balljoint loose. Then simply reinstall the new control arms....which have the balljoints in them already.install the balljoint nuts and cotter pins and then reinstall the wheels and lower truck back to the ground.Be sure to drive vehicle to an alignment shop asap so you do not start to eat up your tires. get back to me if you have any more questions...i'm here to help!!!!!

Frigidaire dishwasher - upper spray arm trouble?

I do not have a problem w/the upper arm not spinning. Rather, the upper arm keeps falling off of my frigidair dishwasher. The owner's manual suggests the upper arm is a single unit. However, the upper arm component is comprised of 3 parts. The parts are an arm that distributes the water, the base that screws to the top of the dishwasher, and a small plastic type washer that rides in the base and literally holds the arm to the base. The plastic washer has two small clips that tend to wear or contrast with age; thus letting the arm fall off on a very frequent basis.

Potentially, the small plastic washer piece may have broken in the base assembly and is not allowing the arm to turn. As water flows into the arm from a hole in the base; suggesting the plastic washer may be jammed with a foreign item seems less likely. The base unit screws to the top of the dishwasher and can be removed by hand (the base is a little tight). There are no mechanical pieces to my third (upper) arm; movement of the arm is accomplished with water flow.

You may wish to remove the arm assembly and check for a broken washer or a foreign item in the assembly. As a side note, I found that I can unscrew the base and remove the assembly without removing the top dish tray. The fit is a little tight but the tedium of pulling and reinstalling the top tray can be eliminated by unscrewing the assembly w/the tray slid forward for assembly access.

Hope all you have is a foreign item that is locking the washer.

It fell off

If you are unable to put it back on while the nut is still attached to the inside of the dryer, reach in and unscrew the upper arm nut. Remove it, reattach the arm to the white plastic piece and reattach the entire assembly by screwing the nut back onto the inside of the dishwasher. Very simple to do and doesn't take much strength at all. In fact, I'm usually the one that has to do it at our house, not my husband, because I can reach in and do it without removing the top rack where as he would have to remove the top rack because his arms are too big.

How to replace uppe ball joint in Ford Crown

First make an appointment for a front end alignment which will be required after replacing the ball joint. Securely support the vehicle under the lower control arm at the outer end, the end nearest the tire. The upper ball joint is attached to the upper control arm with 2 large nuts. Under the nuts are cams with hex heads for adjusting caster and camber. Mark the position of these cams in a way that will allow you to reinstall them somewhere near the same position. Next remove the outer end of the joint from the steering knuckle an then remove the 2 nuts and both cams from the control arm end. Reinstall and get that alignment asap !

Upper a arm bushings

actually you need to have some experience and some air tools like air hammer and a big bench vise you better take it to a mechanic, or if you want to save some money lift the truck from the lower control arm with a floor jack do not remove jack until you remove and reinstall the upper control arm because the coil or spring fro suspension has lots of pressure and might pop uot and it is very dangerous, then one's you have it out take the bushings and the control arms to a shop and let them do it the go back and reinstall it. that will save you money and headaches
