The outside temperature is stuck at 76.1 degrees. Sender and reciever both have new batteries. All other features are working.

Park it faced south , put a heated blanked over the motor overnight. Then, work with each code... For now.

If your outside temperature is not showing on your clock, that may mean that the clock and the transmitter have lost their connection. To reconnect them you must first take the batteries out of both of the units for 15 minutes. First put the batteries back into the transmitter, and then the clock. Let them sit side by side inside your home. When both the indoor and outdoor temperatures show on your clock with the same reading, or within two degrees of each other, then you may put your transmitter back outside. Remember to keep the transmitter out of the direct sun in a dry place. Also keep it away from metal, which can affect the readings.

I had the same problem and gave up on the unit for a while, then I had another attempt and found this worked for me. Take the batteries out of both units (receiver and outside sender) then reinsert the batteries BUT put the batteries into the outside sender unit FIRST, this seems to make the difference as when you then put the batteries into the indoor base-station it detects the outside temperature signal immediately as it starts to set itself up .

Make sure they are both set to the same channel (normally channel 1) put them next to each other then press reset on the temperature unit only.

if it is set to 76 degrees and its 78 in the house its working fine it is suppose to shut off once it reaches 76 but sometimes there is a 1 or 2 degree differential built ini would keep you filter clean and as long as it blows out cold air i wouldnt be to concerned most airconditioners need yearly cleanings though

The outdoor temp sensor is just inside the grill when you opent the hood. The part cost around $76 and kind of looks like a electrical plug receptacle. There are little clips holding the old one in that need to be held apart to dislodge it, slip the new one in, and you're done. Took about 5 minutes.

If it's not some sort of built in economizing feature, someone else isn't getting up and changing the temperature while you are asleep and the air conditioner fairy is playing tricks, then the control PCB is in need of repair and will have to be repaired through a sears authorized repair center.
I am a bit surprised that it will allow you to set the temperature to a low 70 degrees as this is pushing the limits of an air conditioner. They tend to freeze the coils at around that temperature.
