general guidline is 10w-30 or 5w-30. You can use either sytnthetic or organic, but you cannot mix them together. Synthetic in my opinion is definately worth the extra money. you can check your manual to find the manufacturer recommends. I use 5w-30 in all cars except I will put 10w-30 in if it's a high mileage car or in a very warm climate.
