Picture was fine in the morning but in the evening it was not. Did not hear any strange noise when turned on. Purchased tv in 2008 and in 2011 main board was replaced under warranty. Anyway, just trying to figure out what is wrong and if it is worth fixing.
Check your settings, you might just need to track and reinstall all channels again...sometimes caused by bad weather/showing
( no signal ) or you can see your manual trouble shooting guide.
Hope this tip helps.

Thank you for your response. I tried adjusting the settings when this first happened. I also attached a different cable box but neither made a difference. I moved the tv to a different room so that I can keep a closer eye on the picture quality and so far there has been no change. I will disconnect and set-up the tv again and also revisit owner's manual again to see if I missed anything. I think I also need to check the sound again because I have to keep it between 70-80 in order to hear a program. At first it seemed to be cable box related, but now I'm not so sure.

Thank you for your response. I tried adjusting the settings when this first happened. I also connected the TV to a different cable box thinking that may be the problem, but neither made a difference. For now I have moved the TV to another room and have been watching to see if there has been any further decline in picture quality and there hasn't. I will try adjusting settings and revisiting the owner's manual to see if I missed anything.
Alright, also another tip is to check with your cable, in some area's might not be so good, i had a digi box that worked perfect 'when i connected at a new venue it worked for awhile 'when disconnected and reconnected i could never get it to work again at the new venue (i was later told that there was no cable in my area)... your internet provider also should have technicians, as they sometimes have tv extras maybe they can check why your signal is not clear (area might not appear in your manual ).
Thanks again reference30 for another great tip.
We have 4 digital boxes including 1 HD so I will try connecting a different box to see what happens. I also have 2 over the air boxes so I may give that a try too. Should I assume that if none of this works one of the boards is going bad? And if that is the case, then is the TV really worth fixing or should I just recycle it and buy a new one.
it would be wise to make sure that your aerial is working and connected right before you decide, try and get any free help manufactures are a good choice when seeking help, online search or even search to see if an answer has already been found on here...all the best.
