SECOND HAND - INVICTA MODEL 2692

IS THERE A WAY TO RUN THE SECOND HAND WITHOUT USING IT IN A TIMER MODE? ALSO HOW LONG SHOULD A WATCH BATTERY LAST IN THIS WATCH? HOW MANY BATTERIES DOES IT TAKE?

LASTLY THE 1/10 SECOND SWEEP HAND DOES NOT REST TO " 0 " BUT RESETS ALWAYS TO JUST A SKOSH BEFORE THE 9? IS IT BROKEN?

Hi Ed,

I have been in the industry for the past 2 years as a watchmaker's assistant. So I'll see if I can help.

The larger second hand you see in this Chronograph model, using it is only available in the Chronograph mode.

How long a battery should last (if I had a dollar for everytime I've heard that one! :)

Well generally a battery should last about 2 years. It all depends on how many functions that watch has, as for a chrono the more you use that function the more the battery power it uses. I have not seen this watch but as it looks to be the 'standard' kind of format of a chronograph, just one battery would surfice.

In regards to 1/10 lap, please take the to a watchmaker as the hands need to be reset, this either can be done manually or can be done by pulling out the crown slightly (please as if you are to forcefull you will pull the crown and stem out) NOT GOOD!. if you pull it out to 'quick date change' where only the date can be changed try pressing one of the pushers and see which sub dial hands move, if that doesn't work try the other pusher.

Again if the above doesn't work, pull the crown out to time set mode (where you can adjust the time) and try the same steps as above. If this fails and it's still off, take it to a watchmaker and he/she will realign the hands for you!

Kind Regards
Shenlun

The second hand won't tick

On many Invicta watches, the large hand which points towards 12 o'clock is not a second hand. It is the hand used with the stopwatch function. If yours is a chronograph, the second hand, if there is one, may be one of the three small dials on the watch face. There are a number of movements used in Invicta watches and the operating instructions can differ from movement to movement. The battery also will be different depending on the movement.

The seconds hand on my invicta subaqua reserve does not move. It only moves when I start the chronograph. I've read the instructions time after time and can not get it to work.

The hand that moves when the chronograph is working is not a second hand. It will rest at the 12 o'clock position unless you are using the stopwatch. If your Invicta has a second hand, it is one of those small dials on the watch face.

Brand new today out of the box and will not run Tried winding and shaking. Second hand will not move.

mcdevito75 here, Use the waranty info from the box and call Invicta. In the meantime, turn the winer stem and hold the watch close to your ear do you hear a clicking?? Some automatic watches will only wind while they are in motion on your wrist, Hold the watch in your hand a turn your hand in circles and see if the watch starts up.

Invicta model 3209 watch

Your watch is fitted with chronograph movement 5040D made by Ronda (Switzerland). If you take a closer look, then you will realise that the subdial at 3 o'clock is counting seconds allready. This is your seconds dial, not the big one.
The big seconds hand actually is the chronograph hand (stopwatch) and, when activated, works together with 1/10th counter.
Follow this link and see for yourself:

Find movement 5040D and click on INTERACTIVE version.

Invicta Speedway 9223 not keeping time

It sounds to me as it is a quartz chronograph and it is right that the centre seconds hand moves only if the pushbutton is pressed. If you look close enough, you will notice that the small subdial finger is ticking and counting seconds. It is recommended to replace battery, as sometimes watches been laying in stores for a few years before selling and the battery is flat or underpowered.
