Monitor's resolution need to be increased, how?

Hi

You don't say which operating system you are using.

The monitor resolves images across a fixed range of resolutions and resfresh rates.

It is the resolution of the graphics card or graphics adapter that can be changed, not that of the monitor.

Right click on empty space on your desktop > properties > settings.

Left click and hold on the slider and slide to the right in stages.

Each resolution change offers you a test page to accept or reject.

When satisfied Apply > Yes > Ok.

To reset the Refresh Rate:

Properties > settings > Advanced > Refresh Rate.

Then restart your computer.

Be careful not to exceed the resolution/refresh rate range of your monitor (1280 x 1024) / 75.0 Hz because if you do, when you restart the computer, the monitor will be unable to resolve the image and you will get a blank screen and/or an Out Of Range error message.

An out of range problem might only be resolved by using a different monitor to reset the resolution back to within the range of the preferred monitor.

Hope this helps

Monitor just says out of range no matter what I do, I have switched the cords already

When a monitor is out of range it means that the computer is set up to a resolution that the monitor cannot handle

what you need to do is turn on your computer and tap F8 repeatably untill you confront a screen asking you what you want to do

you want Safe Mode with VGA

this will start windows in Safe mode (default settings for everything) and will set the resolution to 800x600 (smallest resolution supported by everything) when you are at the desktop you can just change the resolution of your screen normally

Windows Vista/7
right click the desktop > Screen resolution

Windows XP/98 etc
Right click the desktop > properties and it will be in there somewhere (don't have an XP machine in front of me sorry)

Says out of range

Out of range means that your computer resolution is set too high for the monitor to understand and accept.
Try restarting the computer with the screen turned on and that may correct it.
If not, You may have to reset your computer resolution to a lower level using a different monitor then hook up the viewsonic.

Inout signal out of range Answer Failed: retry

It shows out of range because the PC is sending out the video signal that is higher than the monitor can display, you need to set the PC video resolution to the native resolution: 1024 x 768 @60Hz. You can reboot the PC into save mode (hitting F8 key while booting up) then set the resolution to 640 x 480 (try 1024 x 768 if it allows you to do so), reboot and reset the resoltion to 1024 x 768 @60Hz.

Input signal out of range and the monitor keep going off

Your PC is putting too high of the resolution for the monitor to support. You need to set your PC video resolution to 1280 x 1024 @60Hz (native resolution) for this monitor. Bootup in safe mode (hitting F8 key during bootup) and set the resolution to 640x480 then reboot in normal mode, then reset the resolution to 1280 x 1024 @60 Hz.

SOYO DYLM24E6 DISPLAYS OUT OF RANGE WAS TOLD MONITOR HAS A RESET BUTTON IF SO WHERE OR IS THERE A FIX FOR THIS MONITOR IT IS NEW

Restart your computer in Safe Mode
(or reconnect your previous monitor).

Set the screen-resolution to 800 by 600 at 60 Hertz.
Shutdown, connect the new monitor, and restart, and your Soyo monitor will be able to display something, using these "NOT-out-of-range" values.

Try changing the resolution to 1024-by-768, or 1280-by-1024,
and "test' these values, to see what values are "in-range" for your new monitor.

Comp 'out of range' not operational due to changing resolution

The Monitor you are using cannot handle the new resolution you just set on your system. The only way to use the system with that monitor is to use a monitor that can handle the reolution and reset the resolution back to what the monitor can handle.
You need to take yours system to an experienced Technician who will reset the system resolution to what your monitor can handle. Althernatively if you are in an IT environment, use a more rescent model of monitor or a flatscreen monitor to reset the systems' resolution before connecting back your monitor.

Showing message out of range

Your monitor settings within windows are set too high for the monitor to display... When computer first boots.. be ready and press the F8 key...
Enter safe mode.. Reset the display properties in control panel to 800 by 600 for a start. Setting the resolution too high past the monitors ability will give you that message.. Most monitors are able to display 1024 by 768 just fine.. Out of range.. means the display settings within windows are out of the monitors range of ability to display the screen resolution you have set... Good luck!!
