Make sure tv input is set for the slot you plugged the DVD
into.On the tv remote you will find inputs.Just change for the right one.
Most of the time DVD player is working when TV is on channel 2 or 3 .
There are three coloured leads on the back of a DVD player if you use composite video - Red is Right channel sound, white is Left channel, yellow is video.
Red from DVD right output to TV right input White from DVD left output to TV left input Yellow from DVD video out to TV video in
I've done this before, i had to buy double female R.C.A. connectors (3) of them sold individually if I remember correctly, and then proceed to connect the 3 "male" ends from the PS2 cables to the 3 double "female" connectors i bought (best buy, meijer, radio shack, etc.) and then connect the 3 "male" ends of the R.C.A. cables that came supplied with my portable DVD player to the other end of the 3 "female" connectors, and finally connected the other end of the (DVD supplied) cable into the portable DVD player. hope this helps, and i apologize if it sounds a bit confusing, just trying to be as thorough (i have no idea if i spelled that right) as possible. Keep me posted if this helps!
Get a three-way aerial connector for the back of your TV. It'll only cost you about £1. All it is, is an extra aerial socket where you can attach you dvd player.
It has 2 Female and 1 Male connector on it. You put the Male connector into your TV where the aerial goes. Then plug in your Aerial into one of the Female connections. Then plug in your dvd player via the coaxial lead ( not a scart lead) into the other Female connection. And turn on your dvd player and tune your Tv to pick up the dvd player. And hopefully that's it.
The connector your after look like a triangle shape with three metal bits sticking out where you plug in your Tv/dvd cables
Hope this helps
Depending on what leads you have and what connections your equipment has depends on how you would wire it up for a basic setup you need a set of three male to male rca a leads consisting of a RED WHITE and Yellow plugs at each end. Now on the back of your dvd player there should be three female holes the same colou as your plugs and near those holes it should say input plug the leads colour to colour now the other ends of the lead plug into the section of your amp thats says dvd input with the same style holes as the dvd player. then you need to run another cable the same as you have just used to take the sound and picture to the tv you start of plugging one end into the amp where it says monitor or tv out and then at the other end of the lead will plug into the tv in A/V1 or A/V2 if the A/V1 is being used for a video player or camcorder Yellow is Picture Red is Right Sound Channel And White is Left Sound Channel so only plud the matching colours to each other or you will end up no better off hopefully this helped if you get stuck my email is [email protected]
Yes, for a workaround. The adapter would be 2 RCA female to 1 RCA male. You have to connect both the red and white to the female RCAs and use the male to connect to the TV's Audio INput. The yellow goes to the video. There should be no negative technical effect other than lost of stereo quality. The audio output of the DVD is line level and could normally tolerate this condition.
The correct method is to use a simple line level audio mixer and mix the L& R audio signal to produce a mono signal or to use a stereo amplifier for the sound output.
Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.
