The coffee maker prematurely turns off (automatically) at different times. It does not consistantly stay on, the coffee gets cold.
Hello 1pro8vo2,
This is a common problem with Cuisinarts and is fixable.
I am most familiar
with the DCC-1200, but you may be able to solve the problem. The may be
an indication that something is plugged up. Open the top of
the unit and in one of the corners you should find a water filter stick or
column that is removable. Pull it out and open it up to clean out the
clogged up carbon filter in there. (You can later buy a new filter on
Amazon.) Clean out the debris from the bottom of the cavity. Replace
the stick into the cavity once cleaned. Now it's time to run through a
solution of 2 parts water and 1 part vinegar. Do this once or twice
with fresh solutions, then with a pot of fresh water. When the filter
stick is plugged up the sensor says its time to clean it or shuts the unit down, but most
people don't know about this fix. I hope this is helpful to you, evc. Positive feedback is appreciated. Good luck. NormanZ
With my coffee maker I bought a package of Brew Rite filters for the basket. the coffee maker randomly started shutting off during brewing. sometimes it would work fine another time it would keep shuting off. I discovered the filters were not letting the coffee through the filter, it was filling up the basket and overflowing shutting off the brew cycle. I at first thought it was clogged up somewhere else so I cleaned everything inside and out. today I opened the top and saw the filter basket was still full and the coffee just barely dripping out of the basket. I guess it really pays to get the better basket filters. When I get to town next I will get som mr coffee or Bunn fitlers and it should fix my problem.
