Started to be noisy when compressor starts up. Tried cleaning dusting motor area including fan. Seemed quieter but becoming noisy again

MAY BE LOW ON FREON OR;
THE COMPRESSOR:
If you hear a clicking sound coming from the back of your refrigerator/freezer, then the problem is most likely the compressor, relay and or capacitor is overheating or not getting proper power and will not start.The compressor is the component on your refrigerator that allows your refrigerator to cool. If this component is not working properly your refrigerator will stop cooling. Most of the time the compressor is not the component that has failed.

To check ur compressor with multi meter:
Disconnect and remove the relay and capacitor from compressor, somes located next to compressor in a casing.

You wills see 3 prongs coming out of compressor. 1 goes to ur srtart winding, 1 goes to ur run winding and the center goes to ur ground.

Place ur meter connector or prong on the start prong and the other on the ground (center prong) take note of the reading in OHMS for example 5 ohms.
Next place meter prong on run prong and the center ground prong agin. Take note of the reading in OHMS. Example 4 ohms

Next place meter prong on the start prong and the other on the run prong, now take note of the reading example 9 ohms. Now match the total of this ohms test with the total of ur two separate test. 9 ohms, if they match ur ok give or take 5 percent plus or minus. One more test to make to test of there is a short in compressor attach meter prong to ground prong and rub the other end of meter prong to metal ( scrape the metal clean of paint and test on metal surface not painted surface. If it shows continuity or ohms , u have a short in ur compressor. It should show infinity

probably a coincidence that problem started after the maintenance unless you knocked a wire of a terminal
more likely a problem thermostat
could be a start run capacitor but if that was the case I would expect not to start again at all to many variables to chase so get in a technician to check it out

Door Seal
Examine the door seal of the chest freezer to ensure that it is intact and has no defects. If there is a problem with the seal, it can prevent the door from closing properly which will force the freezer to work harder as it will also be cooling the air around the freezer. Replace the door seal and ensure that the door is able to close properly to see if this reduces the noise.

Element
The wire element that is either located on the rear or the base of your chest freezer. The element can often become noisy after getting covered in dust and debris. Rectify this by switching off the power supply before vacuuming the element. Carefully use a cloth to clean any other surrounding components that are affected by stubborn grime.

Ice Build Up
Where your chest freezer is unable to regulate itself, you may find that it can suffer a buildup of ice. When the ice become sufficiently thick, it will stop the freezer from being effective and will force the motor to work harder in order for it to keep working. Prevent this problem by defrosting your freezer on a regular basis or whenever it is required.

Condenser Fan
The condenser fan is likely to be located at the rear of the freezer and can become noisy if it is defective or covered in dirt. After switching off the power supply, use a cloth to clean the blades of the condenser fan if you find that the noise is coming from this component.

Compressor
The compressor is the black box that you will find on the base or rear of your freezer and is where the normal noise of the running the freezer comes from. The pipes and wires necessary for the freezer to work stem from this box and can become noisy if there is a problem, which is more likely with an older appliance. A defective compressor cannot be repaired so it will need to be replaced.

Ah this is an indication that your condenser has become dirty, or blocked, or the fan motor is not working or the air flow is restricted.
The noise is generated when the compressor cycles off and sudders to a stop

I think you did the right thing by just cleaning it. The fan is really there to help prevent the motor from overheating.
Overheating is typically the way breadmakers fail, so you've prolonged the life of yours by maybe another 5 years!

Light oil on the bearing and keeping the dust down is the right thing to do.

Yes , motor is bad . May not start , next time cuts off . The fan in the back by the compressor , is called the condensor fan motor . I would suggest cleaning the coils in front at the bottom , of dust , lint , pet hair , etc , before replaceing the fan motor . Also , clean the fan blade before reinstalling the motor .

The only thing a capacitor does is 'kick' the compressor to start it. There is a box on the compressor containing the start relay. If it is defective or dirty, it might buzz. With the power off, find it, remove its cover and use some canned air to blow off any dirt inside. If that doesn't fix it, replace it. If there is a fan down there, be careful...and be sure it is working.

when you state "it's the compressor running all the time", does this mean it hardly shuts off? if so need more freon

It sounds as if the thermal limit on the compressor is cutting off power to the compressor when it gets too hot. There could be 3 reasons for this. One, the compressor is just bad...should be covered under the 5 year sealed sytem warranty (if its less than 5 years old of course) if this is the case. Two, the thermal overload and start relay assembly is bad. They are mounted directly to the compressor (big round black thing) and can be changed for about$14 in parts (unplug the unit before replacing!) Three, the fan that runs in the bottom near the compressor that cools the compressor and condenser is jammed or not rotating for some reason. It should run any time the the compressor is running. If it doesnt, it need replaced or the compressor will do exactly what you are describing. Hope this helps!
