Actually, there are two types of this error fault code. One if the word Flo is flashing, and the other is if the word Flo is solid.

2 different problems:
if flashing, intermittently with current temperature, then the problem is 'Restricted' water flow. Most common problems:

  • dirty or clogged filter - clean, soak or replace
  • Closed valve (s) it does happen
  • Not enough water in tub or pool
  • Sticking skimmer weir gates, allowing water in well to go dry
  • Foreign object or debris in internals of pump - impeller
  • Etc
Solid Flo - flow switch sensing water flow and confirming this to circuit board. But.... Circuit board is saying, whoa, hold your horses! How can that be? I am not even sending power to the pump, to create water flow! So, because of this confusion, I am going to throw up a fault code, that is going to be a solid Flo with no flashing temperature and render the system non operational.

So, which one do you have? Or did have?
if this help you out, please reply with problem fixed in the testimonial. Thank you, have a fantastic afternoon.

Hi Simon,

The FLO message is a warning that your water flow is not what it needs to be. This can be harmful to your equipment, without proper water flow the heating element can over heat or your pump can run dry causing damage. Often this is can be caused by dirty filters, so your first check should be to see if your filters are clean. Other possible problems could be water levels. Make sure you have no water blockages especially on the suction end.

This usually means you have a bad motor. It has found a flat spot on the windings.
You will need a new pump for the fix.

What do i replace my 4hp Flo Master XP2 wet end with? Everything now is for 3hp or less

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

Your wet end was most likely the 3HP version all along. Most pump manufacturers use the motor service factor to exaggerate the HP rating to try and sell the unit as 'better' than the competitors. You are best off using the part number molded into the original impeller as a means of identifying what pump you really have and ordering the wet end based on that information. If you can get the 8 digit number please post it in a comment to this message and we can verify the correct wet end for you. Another alternative will be to use a Waterway Executive model wet end if yours is indeed a discontinued 4HP rating.

If this answer does not fix your problem, please comment with additional details prior to rating the answer. Positive feedback is appreciated once your problem is solved!

Get Flo Message frequently and sometimes FIL2 message.

FLO is related to either a dirty filter or a clogged suction to the pump or possibly a pump related fault. FIL2 is the code displayed when programming the 2nd Filtration Cycle.

Flo word on panel nothing else works

'Flo' means that there's insufficient flow of water through the heater, or non at all.

1) Check the water level - top up if low.
2) Ensure that all jets are open and flow water - if they don't you may have a pump issue.
3) Remove the filter(s) and see whether or not this clears the fault, if so clean or replace the filters.

Ian.

LF means "Low Flow". Remove the filters to see if the code goes away. If not, the pressure switch may be bad.
